We understand the need for relief when someone is experiencing back or neck pain. In order to most effectively treat, and ultimately heal the source of your pain we rely on the expertise of our entire team of physicians. Each week we hold a conference during which NewSouth NeuroSpine physicians review complex cases and offer their treatment recommendations for each individual patient. These weekly

conferences ensure that each patient benefits from all of our specialists without having to visit each one individually.

Everyone meet Maggie!! 💙
Maggie is our newest nurse in our Division of Spinal Intervention, working alongside Dr. Laseter, Dr. Summers, and Dr. Dodd.

Originally from Brandon, MS, Maggie studied Exercise Science at Ole Miss before earning her nursing degree from UMMC. When she’s not caring for patients, Maggie loves to unwind watching Grey’s Anatomy with her favorite guilty-pleasure snacks: popcorn and/or sour candy (we totally approve either way).

Maggie’s a sports fanatic, loves to travel, and proudly cheers on the Rebels—or Landsharks—depending on the mascot mood. One thing she absolutely cannot live without? Diva Glam Wash (if you know, you know!)

A few more fun facts about Maggie:

• Go-to karaoke song: Goodbye Earl (the energy is unmatched) 🎤

🌟Surgical Spotlight: Dr. Azordegan in Action🌟
When a spinal cord tumor starts pressing its luck, you turn to the experts of spine care!

Dr. Azordegan recently performed a thoracic laminectomy at T10 to remove a tumor that was pressing on the left side of the spinal cord. He carefully opened the dura—the tough, protective layer around your spinal cord and nerves—to safely access and remove the tumor.

At NewSouth NeuroSpine, our surgeons undergo years of intensive, specialized training — so when the moment comes, you're in the hands that know the spine best!

The patient came in with weakness in her left quad and difficulty with plantar flexion (pointing her foot). Additional symptoms: unable to curl toes and numbness of their feet along with pain and numbness in the left leg. This pointed to something deeper. Literally.

✅The tumor was resected, and the patient is doing well post-op!
