Grace Professional Homecare

Grace Professional Homecare We understand family normally provides help with the elderly. We are homecare with a heart. Every fa We service homes throughout the state of Mississippi.

Grace Professional Homecare provides non-professional home care to the elderly. We understand that providing for the senior population can be a daunting task. We give the care givers, normally family, a chance to take some time off from the responsibilities in caring for the elder family members. At Grace we believe in giving back to those who spent many years with the duties and responsibilities

of raising family. Even though our name is new to the area we come with many years of experience. We believe in meeting our clients face to face. GPH brings a touch of family. At GPH we understand that there are many questions that need answering. Everything is above the table and we believe informed families can make the best decision for our clients/patients. Please contact us if you or a family member have a questions about homecare in today's present situation.

I have attended many CPR classes over the years, but was never told this…..
When you are alone and have a heart attack. What are you gonna do then ?
A rarely good post that can't be shared often enough:
1. Take a 2 minute break and read this:
Let's say it's 5:25 pm and you're driving home after an unusually hard day's work.
2. You are really tired and frustrated.
All of a sudden your chest pains. They are starting to radiate in the arm and jaw. It feels like being stabbed in the chest and heart. You're only a few miles away from the nearest hospital or home.
3. Unfortunately you don't know if you can make it..
4. Maybe you've taken CPR training, but the person running the course hasn't told you how to help yourself.
5. How do you survive a heart attack when you're alone when it happens? A person who is feeling weak and whose heart is beating hard has only about 10 seconds before losing consciousness.
6. But you can help yourself by coughing repeatedly and very strongly! Deep breaths before every cough. Coughing should be repeated every second until you arrive at the hospital or until your heart starts to beat normally.
7. Deep breathing gives oxygen to your lungs and coughing movements boost the heart and blood circulation. Heart pressure also helps to restore a normal heartbeat. Here's how cardiac arrest victims can make it to the hospital for the right treatment
8. Cardiologists say if someone gets this message and passes it on to 10 people, we can expect to save at least one life.
9. FOR WOMEN: You should know that women have additional and different symptoms. Rarely have crushing chest pain or pain in the arms. Often have indigestion and tightness across the back at the bra line plus sudden fatigue.
Instead of posting jokes, you're helping save lives by spreading this message.

Good information!

IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO READ TO THE END
Some people say they don't want to drink before bed
so you don't have to get up at night to go to the bathroom
I asked my cardiologist why do people (especially old people) p*e so much at night.
His answer was: When you stand or sit,
the force of gravity holds water in your lower body.
This is why legs can swell.
When you lie down, your lower body seeks balance with the kidneys.
So the kidneys remove the water along with the trash because then it's easier.
Water is essential to remove waste from your body.
I asked the cardiologist when is the best time to drink water. He answered me:
Drinking water at well defined times maximizes efficiency in the body.
- 2 glasses of water right after waking up activates internal organs.
- 1 glass of water 30 minutes before each meal improves digestion.
- 1 glass of water before taking a bath (or shower) lowers blood pressure.
- 1 glass of water before going to bed, prevents stroke or heart attack.
Drink water before bed, avoid leg cramps during the night.
Your leg muscles, when you have cramps, are particularly seeking water and moisture.
1. If you take an aspirin every day, it's best to take it at night.
- The reason: aspirin has a "half-span" of 24 hours.
So: if most heart attacks happen in the morning, the aspirin in your body will be at its peak then.
2. Aspirins can last for many years in your small pharmacy,
but not really because as they get older they smell like vinegar.
Why keep aspirin on your bedside table?
Besides pain in the left arm, there are other symptoms that indicate a heart attack:
intense pain in the chin (and jaw), nausea and heavy sweating...
But these symptoms are less common.
Note: in a heart attack it is possible that you have NO chest pain.
If you ever wake up to intense chest pains,
immediately swallow two aspirins with a little water.
Say to the phone "heart attack"! and also that you took 2 aspirin.
Sit on a chair by the front door and wait for rescue.
ESPECIALLY!!! DON'T LAY DOWN !
A single human life could probably be saved, a cardiologist said
if every person who receives this email forwards it to 10 other people!
For me it's done It's up to you now!
TRANSFER IT CAN SAVE LIVES!!!

Another post with good information!

Stroke has a new indicator! They say if you forward this to ten people, you stand a chance of saving one life. Will you send this along? Blood Clots/Stroke - They Now Have a Fourth Indicator, the Tongue:

During a BBQ, a woman stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) ...she said she had just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes.

They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food. While she appeared a bit shaken up, Jane went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening.

Jane's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00 PM Jane passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Jane would be with us today. Some don't die. They end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead.

It only takes a minute to read this.

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

February is Heart Health Awareness Month!

February is American Heart Month, a perfect time to focus on maintaining a strong and healthy heart. Staying active, managing stress, and updating your plan of care are all key to heart health. In this email, we’ll cover essential heart health tips, simple exercises and ways we can get your caregiver involved to keep your heart in top shape.

Heart Health Tips

Monitor Your Blood Pressure Regularly
High blood pressure is something we often see becoming an issue as we age. Regular monitoring, staying physically active, and maintaining a diet low in sodium can help keep your blood pressure in check.

Stay Active: Fun and Easy Ways to Move More
Staying active doesn’t mean intense workouts. Simple activities like walking, dancing to your favorite tunes, or even gardening can improve circulation and strengthen your heart. Aim for at least 30 minutes of movement most days of the week.

Put It In The Care Plan
Want to make sure you or your loved one are being held accountable to get moving or incorporating heart healthy meals? Reach out to your Care Coordinator about putting this in your daily care plan! Your caregiver will make sure this is a focus on each shift.

Did You Know?
Laughter is good for your heart! Studies show that laughing reduces stress and inflammation in the arteries, improving overall heart function. So, find something that makes you smile every day.

Stay Heart-Healthy
We encourage you to take small steps every day toward a healthier heart. Stay active, eat well, and take care of yourself. Your heart will thank you!

Until next month, stay strong and stay well! Concerned about your or your loved one's overall health? Let our team know so we can keep an eye out and help schedule doctors appointments as needed.
