The Work, The Wins, The Push -Part 2/3

Waheed walked on his very first day of physical therapy.
From that moment on, he never stopped pushing.
Working closely with Dr. Hannah and Dr. Janell, Waheed learned how to:

✔️ Fall safely

✔️ Walk with confidence

✔️ Kick a soccer ball

✔️ Reach, lift, and pull

✔️ And most importantly… PUSH

Each session ended with a tradition: Waheed pushing the sled down the turf—and Dr. Hannah pushing him right back. Strength, laughter, grit, and trust filled every session.

Despite everything he has been through, Waheed shows up smiling, determined, and ready for more. His resilience is nothing short of incredible—and watching him move with pride reminds us why we do what we do.

This is what progress looks like.
This is what courage looks like.

✨ Midweek Check-In — Almost There! ✨

Can you believe we’re already nearing the end of January? Whether this month has felt long or flown by, this is your reminder to pause, check in with your body, and keep moving forward.

Midweek is the perfect time to:
✔️ Revisit your goals
✔️ Get a quality workout in
✔️ Stay consistent with your rehab or training
✔️ Prioritize recovery

Progress doesn’t have to be loud or dramatic. Sometimes it’s simply showing up, doing the work, and trusting the process—one rep, one session, one day at a time.

If your body is feeling tight, sore, or just “off,” we’re here to help you move better, feel stronger, and finish January on a high note.

🎉🎂 Help us wish a very Happy Birthday to Amanda! 🎂🎉

Even though we don’t get to see Amanda’s smiling face in the clinic every day anymore, she is still such an important part of our PPP family — working hard behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly and looking great! 💻💙 From managing our social media, to creating our lobby slideshow, to putting together our monthly newsletter, Amanda helps keep our community informed, connected, and inspired.

Amanda’s smiley, friendly personality shines through in everything she does, and we’re so grateful for the care and creativity she brings to our brand and our patients. On top of that, she’s a proud, family-focused wife and mom of two 👩‍👧‍👦❤️ — a role she carries with the same dedication and heart that she brings to her work.

Today, we’re celebrating Amanda and all the ways she continues to support our team, even from behind the scenes. Help us make her day extra special by dropping your birthday wishes in the comments below! 🥳👇

Sleep: A Cornerstone of Recovery, Performance, and Long-Term Health 🧠💤

Sleep isn’t passive rest—it’s an active biological process that drives tissue repair, nervous system recovery, and metabolic health. Inadequate sleep has been shown to impair strength gains, slow injury recovery, increase pain sensitivity, and elevate injury risk.

Quality sleep supports:

🧬 Muscle repair and adaptation through growth hormone release

🧠 Central nervous system recovery, improving coordination and reaction time

❤️ Cardiovascular, immune, and metabolic health

🔥 Pain modulation and inflammation control

Ways to optimize sleep physiology:

⏰ Consistent routines help regulate your circadian rhythm, improving sleep onset and depth

🌑 Eye masks or a dark sleep environment reduce light exposure that can suppress melatonin

📵 Limiting nighttime screen time minimizes blue-light interference with melatonin production

🌙 Establishing a wind-down period signals the nervous system to shift into recovery mode

Whether you’re rehabbing an injury or training at a high level, sleep is one of the most powerful—and most overlooked—performance tools available.

Train hard. Recover harder. Sleep matters.

His Story & Why We Show Up - Part1/3

Some stories stay with you forever. This is one of them.

Waheed traveled over 6,000 miles to come to PPP after not walking for more than a year. As a child, he endured injuries no one—especially someone his age—should ever have to face. While walking through a war zone, Waheed lost his eye, arm, and leg.

Children should be worrying about school, sports, and play—not survival.

When Waheed arrived in the U.S., he received a prosthetic arm, leg, and eye. Shortly after, he came through our doors with one goal: to move again.

We are heartbroken that children like Waheed have to face challenges like this—but we are deeply honored to be a place where healing, strength, and hope can begin. At PPP, our mission is simple: help you get moving again, no matter the circumstances.

This is Waheed’s story. And it’s only just beginning.
