Here’s one of our recent bathroom projects! This shower is a great example of universal design.

So what is universal design? It’s the concept of creating spaces that are accessible and functional for everyone — regardless of age, mobility, or ability. In this case, the shower was designed so it can be comfortably used by anyone, whether they’re standing or using a wheelchair.

(This project was at the tail end of completion, so a drain cover was added after these photos were taken.)

Another successful home accessibility project!
We recently completed this overhead patient lift system, allowing our client to safely and comfortably transfer from bed to bath with ease.

Things are still "trucking along" with our office remodel and addition (see what we did there?)

Out front, the site is being prepared for customer parking. Out back, an accessible deck and ramp are being built onto our new addition.

Inside, insulation is being installed and then drywall will soon be up.

We can't wait to show you our fully accessible Living Showroom when it's completed. It's going to be beautiful!

Did you know?

• Labor Day, celebrated on the first Monday in September, honors the achievements and contributions of American workers—and its history runs deep.

• The very first Labor Day parade took place on Tuesday, September 5, 1882, in New York City. It was organized by the Central Labor Union and supported by the Knights of Labor, drawing thousands of workers into the streets.

• There’s a longstanding debate over who first proposed the holiday. Many credit Peter J. McGuire, co-founder of the Carpenters’ union and early AFL leader. Others argue it was Matthew Maguire, a machinist and secretary of the Central Labor Union.

• Oregon became the first state to officially recognize Labor Day in 1887.

• In response to labor unrest—particularly the Pullman Strike of 1894—President Grover Cleveland signed legislation on June 28, 1894, making Labor Day a national federal holiday, observed on the first Monday of September.

• Today, Labor Day symbolizes more than just a three-day weekend—it’s a reminder of the ongoing struggle for fair labor rights, a celebration of progress, and a nod to the activism that shaped modern working conditions.
