There is a great need to have more detailed, correct and rapid communication to complete the Colonial Youngblood Journey in America.

I will be finishing my update of my YDNA Colonial Youngblood research book hopefully this year and will no longer be following or updating this page. (Big Y700 results got in the way of a finish in 2024). It's been a good run....!
Feel free to contact me by mail, email or phone.

Seaborn YB c1802 Seaborn Jr YB c1842 Jackson A Youngblood c1844 1922

'Ransom D's c1820 father is Thomas YB c1781 son of James c1740-91/Mary Bradley.
Thomas c1781's wife was Letitia Lusk...they had at least 6 sons - five known...and 3 daughters
1840 census
Letticia Youngblood - 40/50 (1790-1880)
Son on 1810/1820 census unknown – too young for war of 1812 Wm YB
George Youngblood c1818 & Sarah Green
Ransom D. Youngblood c1820& Rachel Jones
James T. Youngblood c1822 & Rachel Jones "YB' YB 2nd marriage
William YB c1825
Bryant YB c1826

Thomas dec'd b4 1840 and Ransom D died before May 1847 as James T YB then married Rachel Jones YB. Father and son dying early confused early cemetery researchers on which was father who erroneously named the father Ransom YB.

My focus is right now comes from a YDNA member matching Nathaniel YB c1843 perfectly and no one knows who his father is....ie, matches YDNA of all of these....James c1740, Thomas c1781, James T c1822, Nathan'l c1853 and other sons Jeremiah and Eli...this person dob c1802 was born in SC at a time when all Jeremiah, Eli and Thomas were in SC in 1810...(Jeremiah moved to Tenn c1805) Eli (sons with first wife are iffy; likely all are; Joseph c1798) and Thomas on 1810 census...
Note: the son Thomas had in 1810 census under 10 is unknown...too and is not listed above with the known sons...
Looking for someone or some piece of paper or a Bible that lets me resolve this puzzle
*Jeremiah in 1800 in SC; went to TN c1805; ie, in SC to have a son Seaborn in 1802
*Jeremiah has no sons documented between 1797 and 1804? All girls?
*Eli in 1800 in SC, 1 son

With all the crap music out there - WAP et al, if not for elem/ jr & high school contacts and relatives, I would be off this crap software. This may be the last straw...

Came across another members tree that confused the two Lewis YBs each of whom was the son of two different Peter YBs...
---------------------------------------------------------------
Tale of Two Lewis’s sons of two distinct Peter YBs

As I prepare for the Youngblood Genealogy Seminar, I am reviewing Ancestry. com trees, Ancestry AtDNA shares, and am reminded of how many trees there are that still have repeated errors about the Youngblood families I have researched with YDNA to support the paperwork.
There are two Lewis YBsc1750-62, confused, mixed and mingled on numerous Ancestry Trees…easily understood as both had father’s named Peter Youngblood.

One Lewisc1756 died around 1808 and had a wife named Rachel Martin, His father was Peter YB c1732-88. He is on the 1800 census in Abbeville, He died and his wife Rachel is on the 1810 census…she went to GA and was apparently killed in an Indian attack. most kids are Unproven or unknown with a couple of exceptions on the will.

The other Lewisc1750 died around 1822, wife Mary. He is the son of Peter YB c1725-95. He is on the 1820 Census, then this Lewis is deceased Will of 1822 list children - Sons Abner, Thomas, Gideon, Basil and William daughters Catherine, Sarah.

These two Lewis’s have significantly similar YDNA but distinctive with the YDNA marker mutation, wives and location lived and kids…and are closely related in Colonial Times. Ancestry dna (autosomal) will not distinguish the two Lewis and Peter YBs.
Look forward to working with you. See our Project Website and feel free to email any questions. Let me know if you see anything different.

BIG Y has confirmed what we expected that PURPLE, PURPLE/35 share a common ancestor within 3 generations of 1700. We expect PURPLE/10, BLUE and GRAY will show the similar result. I do match the results of PURPLE and PURPLE / 35 in having with them a common ancestor within 3 generations…close match but suggesting different fathers. My ancestor GRAY lived next door to BLUE who lived on the same SC Creek as PURPLE just a few miles away. This is one family showing slight YDNA marker mutations among "Grandsons".
I have used Color codes to define the paternal patriarch of today’s Youngbloods by YDNA profile. Below are the major lines (families) and branches. Note the following based on the Youngblood YDNA Project and the current YDNA profiles by color code.
PURPLE YDNA pattern is for Peter c1725-1795 of Edgefield and sons Jacob c1750, Lewisc1748-1822, Johnc1746, Abrahamc1760 and George c1765-c1808; (Peter appears to have had a brother and a son John just to confuse his records even more…their YDNA will be near if not exactly the same) Henry c1742-1770/wife Catherine – sons Jesse63, Andrew65, Wm67, Henry70;
Bennett YB c1794 and Amos Caril YB c1775 match this group 37/37 but father unproven.

Abraham c1760 is an uncle to Abraham c1770(wife Amy McNeil) who is the son of John and Mary YB PURPLE and not John Miles YB JR and wife Mary GREEN. Abraham has brothers Joshua c1766(wife Mary Catherine McNeil) and likely Isaac and possibly others who match 37/37 but unconfirmed. More to prove here. (DAR records)
PURPLE/35 YDNA pattern is for Peter c1732-1788 and sons Samuel c1754 (DAR records), Lewis c1760-1808 and Joseph c1762-c1830+; This Joseph and Lewis are close cousins to the Lewis and Joseph above (YDNA matches PURPLE 65-66/67 YDNA genetic markers – the major distinction is a mutation at genetic marker 35)
PURPLE/10 YDNA pattern is for Wm c1725 and his son Peter c1745-c1792 of Charleston, SC. For now, this William is thought to be the brother of Peter YBc1732-88 son of Peter YB c1700-1770- all Naturalized in 1739. This is not proven to my satisfaction. (YDNA matches PURPLE 35/37 YDNA genetic markers – the distinction is a mutation at genetic marker 10) Marker DYS389i mutates up by one count. DYS38ii is an overlap region with DYS389i which appears to show a mutation on the display but actually is not. We desperately need more test members from this group to allow a better decision.
BIG Y has confirmed what we expected that PURPLE, PURPLE/35, GRAY share a common ancestor within 3 generations of 1700. We expect PURPLE/10 and BLUE will show the same result. (GRAY has a very near but different match; analysis continuing). My ancestor GRAY lived next door to BLUE who lived on the same SC Creek as PURPLE just a few miles away. This is one family showing slight YDNA marker mutations among "Grandsons".
BLUE YDNA pattern is for James c1740-1791 (DAR Records) (YDNA matches PURPLE 64/67 YDNA genetic markers) This James is the father of Jeremiah YB c1765, Eli and Thomas. **Note this James is not the James - son of John Miles YB above-two distinct men named James born around the same time in the same state but not county.
GRAY YDNA pattern is for Thomas c1745-1822 (DAR Records) (YDNA matches PURPLE 65/67 YDNA genetic markers – close cousins on 1750 time frame) **Note this Thomas is not the Thomasc1736-1808 - son of John Miles YB above-two distinct men named Thomas born around the same time in the same state but not county. GRAY YDNA matches BLUE YDNA 65/67 YDNA genetic markers…very close relatives.
GREEN YDNA pattern is for patriarch John Miles YB SRc1708 and Henry Miles YB c1730, John Miles YB JRc1734 of St Georges, Baltimore MD, James YB c1738? and Thomas YB c1736-1808 of all Johnston Co, NC Hints of a Jacob and a William. (YDNA matches PURPLE c42/67 YDNA genetic markers-not the same family; ie does not match)
GREEN is not related in this time frame but again for now, BIG Y is costly and no GREEN members have taken the test
AQUA YDNA pattern is for the Youngblood line in VA and WVA in the middle 1700s
A key to understanding this family is that all PURPLE, BLUE and GRAY are ONE family…with distinct 1 – 3 YDNA Mutations at 67 Markers that are significant to point to specific “sons or grandsons “ that we can identify of a common ancestor as yet an unproven unknown Youngblood c1700 or few generations earlier in SW Germany – likely Palatinate.
Unknown Patterns exist for late arrivals, no YDNA match, NPE, or unconfirmed lineages that we have not been able to confirm, etc. Some of these are large, well-recognized families. For now, most of the NPEs have been found to be sons of Youngblood women who for whatever reason did not marry the YDNA father. I do very much consider these NPE’s my Youngblood family members.

PURPLE YDNA pattern is for Peter c1725-1795 of Edgefield and sons Jacob c1750, Lewisc1748-1822, Johnc1746, Abrahamc1760 and George c1765-c1808; (Peter appears to have had a brother and a son John just to confuse his records even more…their YDNA will be near if not exactly the same) Henry c1742-1770/wife Catherine – sons Jesse63, Andrew65, Wm67, Henry70;
