Our November Employee of the Month is Nancy Gambill! Nancy has been a part of the SouthernCare team for 3 years. She serves as our RN clinical liaison. Her role is to help facilitate communication between providers, patients, families, and the hospice care team. "I help educate on hospice care and the services we provide to people in the community and ensure patients and families have a clear understanding of the plan of care." When asked about her favorite part of working for SouthernCare, Nancy said she enjoys "watching how each and every member of our team plays a vital role in the overall care of patients and their families. It is a true team approach, and I am truly humbled every day when I hear how our staff make lasting impacts on others. They have answered a true calling, and I appreciate my coworkers more than they could ever imagine." Working in hospice has impacted Nancy in many ways, which includes "knowing that at the end of the day, we have made a difference by embracing the physical, social, and emotional needs of our patients. They continue to hold a lasting place in her heart." To conclude, Nancy was asked what she wants the community to know about hospice, to which she replied, "I think everyone should know that becoming a hospice patient does not mean giving up hope. On the contrary, patients are encouraged and motivated to live life to the fullest. Also, there are countless benefits to earlier admission to hospice care."
Join us in congratulating Nancy on a job well done!
