Our January Employee of the Month is Brittany Kesterson! Brittany has been a part of the SouthernCare team for 7 years. She began her hospice career as an RN case manager, where she had the opportunity to provide hands-on care to patients. For the last 3 years, Brittany has served behind the scenes as our patient care manager, which she describes as "supporting the incredible people who get to take care of our patients." Her favorite part of hospice is getting the opportunity to make a difference during the most difficult times. When asked, "Why hospice?" Brittany reflects on the quote, "Because the end of life deserves the same love and care as the beginning." If she could inform the community of anything about hospice, it would be that "hospice is not just for the patients; we also provide support to the families and friends. Also, I wish people knew that there are many benefits to an earlier hospice admission, instead of waiting until the last days of life." Working in hospice has been both rewarding and impactful for Brittany, but overall, it has taught her that our days are limited and to appreciate the days we are given.

Join us in congratulating Brittany on a job well done!

We love that Marge, and many others, were willing to be silly with us at our photo booth. It doesn't feel like work when you're having this much fun.
