Fedok is a Past-President of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS), serving the term running October 2016-October 2017. Dr. Fred Fedok’s practice focuses on cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face and neck, as well as body contouring. This also includes nonsurgical techniques using lasers, chemical peels, and fillers. Dr. Fedok has special expertise in cosmetic and functional rhinoplasty, as well as facial rejuvenation surgery and fat grafting. In addition, he has extensive experience in the surgical treatment of skin cancer and reconstructive challenges. Dr. Fedok is actively involved as a member on several national committees and lectures on the national and international level. He has published numerous articles and book chapters on facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, as well as a surgical textbook. He is currently a Fellow and Member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS), the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery (AAO_HNS), the American College of Surgeons, and the American Medical Association. He is board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology. He was previously the Chairman of The Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Education Committee of the AAO-HNS (2006-2013). He serves on the Board of Directors of the AAFPRS and was the Group Vice-President for Education (2012-2015). Additionally, Dr. Fedok was the AAFPRS Surgical Specialty Governor to the American College of Surgeons Board of Governors (2009-2015). Most recently, Dr. Fedok was appointed to the Board of Directors of the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Fedok received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1975 and his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Pennsylvania State University in 1979. He completed his postgraduate internship at the Harbor UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles in 1980 and began practicing in the field of emergency medicine through 1985. Dr. Fedok then completed his general surgery and otolaryngology - head and neck surgery training at The Pennsylvania State University between 1985 and 1989. During his residency training, Dr. Fedok developed a strong interest in plastic surgery of the face, head, and neck. He pursued this interest and completed a year of specialized fellowship training with the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Birmingham, Alabama at the McCollough Plastic Surgery Clinic between 1990 and 1991. His experience focused on cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the nose, eyes, face, head, and neck. Dr. Fedok returned to Pennsylvania in 1991, resuming his academic position where he practiced and trained residents in otolaryngology and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Hershey Medical Center of the Pennsylvania State University. He held the position of Chief and Professor of Surgery, Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, through 2013. Dr. Fedok moved to Gulf Shores, Alabama in 2014 to start a new practice in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.
