Huge thank you to Natalie Bauer, Ph.D. from the University of South Alabama for joining our HOSA students yesterday for an inspiring and incredibly informative Lunch and Learn!

Dr. Bauer walked our students through the pathways to healthcare careers, breaking down what it really takes to pursue medical school, graduate programs, nursing, physical therapy, and other professional degrees. She shared valuable insight into admissions factors, the importance of a strong foundation in biology and chemistry, the role of community service, shadowing, patient-care experience, and the academic habits that help students succeed long before they ever submit an application.

Our students especially appreciated her honesty about the journey — the commitment, resilience, professionalism, and preparation required — and her practical tips for success in high school along with next steps and campus resources.

This was an incredible resource for our future healthcare leaders, and we are so grateful for the time, expertise, and encouragement Dr. Bauer shared. Thank you for investing in our students and helping them envision their next steps toward becoming physicians and other health professionals!

Last night’s football banquet was the perfect way to celebrate all the hard work, long hours, and dedication this crew has poured into the season. A huge shoutout to our seniors for leading by example and setting the standard for excellence — you will be SO missed! Grateful for every tape roll, every late night, and every moment you showed up for our athletes.
