Mary Ann Manor Assisted Living is Closing Its Doors After 33 Years of Service
Follansbee, West Virginia
December 4, 2020
Robert & Janine Yelenovsky, owners of Mary Ann Manor Assisted Living, announce today that they are closing the facility, effective January 2, 2021. The facility will no longer be accepting residents, effective immediately. All current residents and their families have been provided a 30-day notice and the facility will be working closely with caretakers to find new homes and effect transfers for all of the residents.
When the Yelenovskys bought the facility from the prior owners in October 2019, the goal was to provide a reliable and affordable place for the community’s elderly population. The Yelenovskys and the staff at Mary Ann Manor have worked tirelessly to maintain the highest standards of care, health, and safety for residents throughout the novel coronavirus pandemic. However, due to skyrocketing prices caused by the pandemic and costly ongoing litigation with the facility’s previous owners, Mary Ann Manor will no longer be able to meet the needs of its residents.
Rob and Janine would like to thank all of the staff at Mary Ann Manor, particularly the nurse aides and registered nurses, for their dedication to the care and well-being of the residents and for rising to the challenges of COVID-19. They would also like to thank those vendors and health care partners in the area who embraced their ownership of the facility and provided much needed support, guidance, and services. While such supporters are too numerous to name, special thanks are extended to Amedisys Hospice, Village Pharmacy, their referral sources at Weirton Medical Center, Drs Cherian & Patani with Nurse Practitioner Monica Valerio at WMC Physician Practices, and the Brooke County Health Department
“The family and friends who serve as caretakers for the elderly, whether at home or as part of the support system for an individual in an assisted living facility, are heroes in my eyes,” said Robert Yelenovsky. “I want to extend a special thank you to the many families and friends who chose to place the care of their loved ones in the hands of Mary Ann Manor.”
