About last night✨EMBRACE THE UNEXPECTED
Roll with the punches, go with the flow. That’s exactly what last nights class did, and man were we “challenged” .
Halfway through our peaceful sunset practice we were blessed with a rainbow, and greeted with light sprinkles. I quickly checked the once clear radar to see that we would soon have a downpour. It came on quick, seemingly out of nowhere like most summer storms do. The low country never fails to surprise!
We made a beeline for underneath the Inn, our shelter to finish the class. When we got there, we found that a large and lively group of guests had also shared the same idea. I introduced the class to the crowd and hoped we could all coexist… internally I battled whether or not to ask them to please give us 30 minutes to finish class, that we would we on our way after, but I didn’t and hey- we live and learn.
That’s when the magic happened. In my seven years of teaching this has to be my favorite moment.
We persevered through the outside chatter, music, downpour, and connected with our breath, finishing our class. I jokingly suggested dancing in the rain, and guess what? We did. We left out mats and stepped out onto the patio spaced . We danced and lifted our hands to the sky- truly giving the guests a full Folly show. We stood together and took a deep breath. I was unbelievably proud and honored to witness the fearlessness and freedom of each individual there.
Returning to our mats for a rather noisy shavasana- the ultimate test- finding inner peace and quiet through chaos and outside noise.
What an absolute beautiful mess it was. But I think we were gifted as much as we were challenged. Sometimes it’s just a little perspective.
Unforgettable ✨thankyou to everyone who came last night 🤍 you’re so special
