That moment when a client finally gets it. Like really gets it.

They've been doing the work, showing up, putting in the effort. And then something clicks.

If I could go back 10 years and tell myself something about being a referral-based small business owner... I would 100% tell myself to not worry about the quiet dip (break actually) around every 3 months.

These client cycles are proof that I'm an effective and efficient clinician. Just keep doing the right things and the new wave of clients will roll in! TRUST THE PROCESS!

Here's what I've learned: those quiet periods? They're not a sign you're failing. They're actually a sign you're doing your job well. Your clients are getting better, moving on, living their lives. That's literally the goal.

But when you're in it, when the calendar looks sparse and you're refreshing your email every five minutes... it doesn't feel that way. It feels like maybe you're done. Maybe the referrals dried up. Maybe you should've posted more on social media or sent that newsletter.

Spoiler: it's not any of those things. It's just the rhythm of helping people. They come in waves. Always have, always will.

Okay, real talk: strawberries in February? I know what you're thinking. They're technically out of season right now. But here in California, we get these sweet little gems year round, so why not celebrate?

Here's the thing about strawberries that I actually find pretty cool. They're not just delicious (though let's be honest, that's reason enough). They're also quietly doing a lot of good stuff for your body.

The antioxidants? Through the roof. All that vitamin C is basically giving your immune system a little pep talk every time you eat one. Your heart loves them too, thanks to the fiber and how they help with inflammation and cholesterol.

Sometimes we've got to learn things the hard way.

But let me try and save you from this one: YOU HAVE GOT TO TAKE CARE OF YOU FIRST.

I know, I know. You've heard it before. But here's the thing most people don't tell you: when you don't put back into your own cup, you're not just running on empty. You're giving from a deficit.

And that deficit? It doesn't just make you tired. It leads to burnout. It leads to getting sick. And then you literally have nothing left to give anyone.

Not your clients. Not your family. Not even yourself.

I learned this the absolute hard way. Like, flat on my back, body refusing to cooperate, hard way. And I'm telling you right now so you don't have to.
