Merrie Carol Twohig

Merrie Carol (Hau) Twohig, born on Christmas Day in 1943, entered eternal life surrounded by the love of her family on February 11th, 2026. The cherished only child of Clarence and Millie (Brandt) Hau, Merrie brought light, warmth, and joy to all who knew her.

A bright, beautiful student, Merrie attended St. Mary’s Elementary School then proceeded to St. Mary’s Springs Academy where she was crowned homecoming queen and graduated as valedictorian of the class of 1962. She went on to earn her degree in Elementary Education from Mount Mary College in 1966. On August 5, 1967, she married the love of her life, Timothy G. Twohig, establishing an adoring, joyous, dynamic marriage that became the steady foundation of their large and loving family. Merrie taught in the Milwaukee Public School System while Tim finished dental school. After his graduation, they moved to Louisiana where Tim completed his service in the US Air Force and later planted their roots back home in Fond du Lac.

Merrie’s life was centered on her family above all else. She was the devoted mother of six children: Mark (Faye) Twohig, Anne (Greg) Brunette, Catherine (Chris) McGalloway, Tim (Kelly) Twohig, Sean (Keri) Twohig, and Christopher (Samantha) Twohig. Her legacy continues in her sixteen grandchildren: Elizabeth (Shep) Griswold, Joseph Brunette, Joshua Brunette, Teresa Brunette, Lauren (Chris) Chambers, Christian (fiancé Talya Loken) McGalloway, Megan (Adam) Hopper, Donovan McGalloway, Quentin (Brianna) Twohig-Williston, Millie Twohig, Colin Twohig, Gavin Twohig, Declan Twohig, Cleary Twohig, George Twohig, and Layne Twohig. The next generation has begun - with two great-grandchildren, Beatrice Chambers and Dean Williston, plus two more expected in the coming weeks.

Deeply committed to her faith, friends, and community, Merrie was actively involved in the St. Joseph, St. Mary, and St. Mary’s Springs school communities, Holy Family Catholic Church as well as Sigma and the dental auxiliary. She regularly made herself available to anybody who needed a ride, a hand, a few bucks, someone to talk to, or a shoulder to cry on. Yet her most enduring work happened at home. Merrie was a constant teacher of grammar and academics, but more deeply of Catholic values, right and wrong, and personal responsibility. She corrected mistakes with firmness and clarity, always guiding her children and grandchildren toward lives rooted in faith, integrity, and love. She approached daily meals, family gatherings and vacations with careful attention to detail so the important things - togetherness, prayer, and so much laughter - could take center stage.

She is survived by her beloved husband Dr. Tim Twohig, her children and their spouses, her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many dear cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends

Merrie lived a life of steadfast faith, purposeful guidance, and profound dedication to those she loved. Her Christmas birth was a gift, and her years of teaching and nurturing remain a lasting blessing to her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in the eternal peace she so faithfully pointed others toward, forever held in the arms of God, whom she served so well.

Visitation for Merrie will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 19th at Holy Family Catholic Church, 271 4th Street Way, Fond du Lac, WI. Visitation will continue at Holy Family on Friday, February 20th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers - contributions honoring her faith and legacy may be made to Holy Family Catholic Community or St. Mary’s Springs Academy.

Scott James Mondloch

Scott James Mondloch passed away on January 30, 2026, at the age of 68. Scott was born to James and Bernadette Mondloch on April 25, 1957, and spent his youth on a farm just two miles west of Adell, Wisconsin. He attended Random Lake High School before serving in the US Navy serving in Vietnam. Scott was loved by Germaine Ditter, affectionately called “bughead”, and they resided in a cozy cabin in the woods of the Kettle Moraine on the still waters of the North side of Long Lake.

Scott “Mondo” would share that he was blessed by the bond of Harley riders. For over 38 years Germaine and him spent time together on the road, and although at times the road got bumpy, they always remembered ‘tuck and roll’. They will be riding together again one day.

Scott was a machinist, with ability to breathe life into any sleeping unused machine in the shop. He valued teaching younger kids in the shop how to turn iron chunks into moving metal that goes down the road, flies past you on the lakes, or sows the harvest in the fields. He had an engineer and artist perspective to build, repair, and solve problems. He constructed the home he shared with Germaine on Long Lake and assembled his own Harley Davidson knucklehead motorcycle piece by piece. Scott was passionate about music and was a skilled trumpet player. Each year during his teen years, Scott would play Taps at local cemeteries honoring Veterans on Memorial Day.

As an active boater on Long Lake, Scott would also express a special thank you to all the neighbors on the lake and the summer times they shared listening to 70’s rock music. He was very appreciative of the support and care of his neighbors. Scott truly valued everyone that was a part of his life, and he always had the kindest words when describing his friends in the area. He was always there to lend a tool or instruction how to use the tool when you visited the garage.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and three of his siblings Rick Mondloch, Julie Mondloch and Maria Mondloch. Scott is survived by his loved one, Germaine Ditter and her boys Andy, Christopher, and Ryan, and his siblings Linda (Jim) Loescher, Peggie Mondloch, Paul (Marilyn) Mondloch, John Mondloch and Sarah (Chris) Sulzen, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of life is scheduled for this summer to allow family and friends from out of state to attend.

Scott was his own man – thoughtful and mindful of the moment. He helped all those around him. Friends and family will miss the long conversations accompanied by a beer or whiskey or two solving the world’s problems in Scott’s garage. In the words of the Allman Brothers: “Trouble no more, worry no more.”

Carol Mae Carey

Carol M. Carey, 94, of Campbellsport, peacefully ended her journey on earth and entered eternal life on January 25, 2026, at home and surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 24, 1931, in the Town of Eden to Leo and Valeria Cosgrove. On August 22, 1953, she married the love of her life, Royal Carey, at St. Patrick’s Church in Fond du Lac.

Carol grew up on the family farm in the Town of Eden, where she learned the value of hard work. After graduating from St. Mary Springs Catholic High School, she worked at Wisconsin Power and Light, forming friendships that would last a lifetime and for which she remained deeply grateful. She later worked side by side with her husband, Royal, in their many business ventures. No task was ever too big or too small-whether trimming tree roots, mowing for hours, or keeping the books. Carol and Royal were true partners in all things.

Carol lived a life rooted in faith and devotion to Christ. She found joy in prayer, strength in scripture, and peace in the promises of eternal life. She loved her church and cherished sharing the love and warmth of her savior, Jesus Christ, with others. Her service as a Eucharist Minister allowed her to bring comfort and faith to many.

In 1971, Carol began a lifelong practice of yoga, dedicating herself to years of workshops, study and teaching. As her passion grew, she traveled twice to Pune, India, where she undertook intensive training with renowned teacher B.K.S. Iyengar. Yoga became more than a practice-it was a source of balance, strength, and lifelong learning that remained an important part of her life.

Carol also loved all animals and found great joy in watching wildlife. She spent countless hours observing, often naming the cranes, loons, ducks, and other visitors to her pond. Closest to her heart were her cherished dogs, Spot and Max. Above all, Carol was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her love was steady, generous, and unconditional, and her family was her greatest joy. She will be remembered for her kindness, wisdom, and gentle presence, and she will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.

Carol is survived by her son, Timon (Susan) Carey of Sheboygan; her sister, Joan Hau of Fond du Lac; siblings-in-law, Dale (Shirley) Tuttle of West Bend, Maryann Tuttle of Eden, and Ken Schuman of Sun Prairie; her grandchildren, Dawn (Jason) Bertram of Campbellsport, Josh Carey of Campbellsport, Jeana (Andrew) Minert of N. Arnold A. Gudex

Arnold August Gudex passed peacefully from this world in the early morning of January 4, 2026. With perseverance and ingenuity, he along with his family built a dairy farm along the Milwaukee River often making something out of seemingly nothing. Arnold diligently followed world politics, weaving a historical perspective into his letters to the editor and protest signs on peace, farm and social justice issues. Cynthia L. Boyle

Cynthia “Cindy” Boyle, 76 of Fond du Lac (formerly of Niles, IL) passed away unexpectedly at St. Agnes Hospital on December 28, 2025 with her loving family by her side. She was born on May 20, 1949.

Cindy left behind a legacy of grace, kindness, and unwavering love. Born with a bright spirit and a gift for connecting with others, Cynthia was crowned Miss Niles in her youth—an honor that reflected not only her beauty, but the warmth and generosity that defined her throughout her life.

Above all else, Cynthia was devoted to her family. She was a loving mother, a cherished grandmother, and a steadfast sister, always ready with encouragement, laughter, or a gentle word when it was needed most. Her home was a place where everyone felt welcome, and her presence had a way of making ordinary moments feel special.

She moved through this world with a warrior’s heart and a saint’s grace. For years she battled storms that would have broken a lesser soul, yet she rose each day with quiet courage, meeting every hardship with a strength that felt almost otherworldly. Her spirit—unyielding, tender, and full of faith—now lives on in her children and grandchildren, who carry her legacy of perseverance in their own hearts.

Though her body knew illness, her spirit never bowed. She never complained, never asked “why me,” never let the weight of her suffering dim the light she offered others. Instead, she met every challenge with dignity, humility, and a gentle smile that told the world she was still fighting.

And fight she did—until the very last moment.

Her journey was long, her battles many, but her grace was endless. Her strength remains, echoing through the generations she leaves behind. Those fortunate enough to know her will remember her for the quiet strength she carried through every chapter of her life.

Her unexpected passing leaves a deep ache in the hearts of all who loved her, but her memory will continue to shine through the stories shared, the lessons she taught, and the love she gave so freely.

Cynthia’s family invites all who knew her to hold her close in their thoughts and to honor her by showing the same kindness she offered so effortlessly to others.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include her 3 children; Kimberly Zernone, Leonardo Zernone, and Melissa Zernone; grandchildren Brianna (Dean) Schutte, Alexandria Dean, Nicholas Dean, Brooklynn Zernone, Jordan Zernone, Jason Benson, Joshua Benson, Ashley Benson; great-grandchildren Taleigha, Brynley, Gianna and Avery. She is further survived by other friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her husband Arthur in 2006, parents Arthur and Annette Dvorak; her brothers; James, Donald and Gregory Dvorak.

Visitation will take place on January 7, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Simkins Funeral Home in Morton Grove, IL.

Mass will take place on January 8, 2026 at Saint John Brebeuf Parish at 10:00 a.m.
