Today, we extracted double-rooted premolars as part of an orthodontic treatment plan — and while extractions aren’t unusual, seeing premolars with two roots is not something we come across every day!

Most premolars typically have just one root, especially in the lower jaw. But in some cases, like today, they can have two distinct roots making the extraction a bit more complex and fascinating from an anatomical point of view. 🧐

Every smile is unique, and this is a great example of how dental anatomy can vary from patient to patient!
