Have you ever thought about working in the health care field? We are looking for a part time pharmacy clerk. No past experience is required. No certification is required. You must have a driver's license. Upon hiring you will be registered with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy. Please PM me if interested and we will get you an application.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

1. Perform the duties of a pharmacy clerk. The duties of a pharmacy clerk may include placing a prescription container into a bag or sack for delivery to the patient as part of the sales transaction after
the accuracy of the prescription has been verified by the pharmacist.
2. Process wholesale drug orders, including the submission of orders, the receipt and processing of drug deliveries from drug wholesalers, reconciling products received with packing slips or invoices, and affixing appropriate inventory or price stickers to drug stock bottles or containers.
3. Perform routine clerical duties, such as filing processed, hard-copy prescriptions and other pharmacy records.
4. Update or change patient demographic information, excluding allergies and disease state information, in the pharmacy computer system or patient profile.
5. Receive from a patient the patient’s request for a prescription refill, excluding the processing of the refill request.
6. Perform pharmacy drug inventory control duties, including checking pharmacy stock shelves
for outdated drugs and assisting with annual inventory counts.
7. Deliver drugs to patient care areas, long-term care facilities, patient residences, or patient employment locations, excluding the restocking of automated medication distribution system.
8. Clean and organize
9. Answer phone

Must be people person with attention to detail and hold a drivers license.

Today marks Jill Scharper’s last day at Miller Pharmacy. Jill has been a pharmacist since 1983, and we have been truly fortunate to have had her as part of our team for so many years.
Jill began her career in Davenport , Iowa, working at one of the busiest pharmacies in the state. In those early days, prescription labels were typed on a typewriter, insurance cards were copied using machines similar to old credit-card imprinters, and pharmacy technicians were not yet a standard part of pharmacy practice. Much of the work was handled solely by pharmacists.
Over the course of her career, Jill witnessed—and adapted to—tremendous change in the profession. As she retires today, she leaves behind a career that evolved into using computers, POS systems, and the internet to process insurance claims. Her ability to grow with the profession speaks to her dedication and professionalism.
Jill’s career has been a remarkable success, but what we will miss most is the warmth and kindness she shared with both her coworkers and the customers she served. At Miller Pharmacy, we believe we are pharmily—a blend of pharmacy staff and family—and today we celebrate the retirement of a valued member of that family.
We will miss you, Jill, and wish you nothing but happiness and success in this next chapter of your life.

🎄Fertile Fire Department will having their annual lighted Christmas parade around town tomorrow Saturday, December 20th @ 6pm 🧑‍🎄 they will leave the Fire Department and head West on Washington St and do the loop around town.

🚒 After the parade come to the fire hall for pictures with Santa and other guests and also have some hot chocolate and cookies. 🍪.

There is also a lighted display in the Fertile park from 6-8pm free will donation. ☃️

So plan an evening of fun in Fertile
