The rain didn’t keep us from Golfing for a Cause last week!

Thank you to our event sponsors, golfers, participants and volunteers who supported our annual Chesapeake Challenge Golf Tournament benefiting the Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill.

To date, $138,000 has been raised, providing over 460 days and nights of charity care for our neighbors at the Hooper House during their time of need.

Even though the Christmas season is over we are still grateful for gifts from our community. Especially the gifts from Heart like a Lyon, Lauren Lyon. Only after sitting by the bedside of your loved one, that is dying, would you understand the magnitude of this heartfelt gesture. Each of these bags contains items that the family members, of our residents, might need; blankets, food delivery gift cards, phone chargers, snacks, etc. Thank you Lauren and the community that rallied around you to help make these amazing gift bags 🩷

One of the hardest part of a new year beginning isn’t the chaos or our busy schedules, it’s the ache in our hearts for the people who are no longer here. It’s the quiet moments when their absence feels the loudest, when the memories of their laughter, their love, and the way they made everything feel magical come rushing back.

The holidays have a way of magnifying that empty space, of reminding us how much they meant, how much they still mean. It’s in the traditions they started, the meals they cooked, the hugs they gave, and the irreplaceable warmth they brought into our lives.

And while the world around us shines with lights and joy, there’s a part of us that just wants to pause, to hold onto those memories, and to wish, just for a moment, that we could share one more holiday with them.

To anyone who feels that ache this season, you are not alone. Let their love live on in your heart, in the traditions you carry forward, and in the quiet moments where their spirit still lingers. They may no longer be here, but their love will always be a part of you.
