🌿🐴 In response to the recent Chisago Lakes tragedy, Acres for Life Therapy and Wellness Center and Wounds Project are partnering to offer a healing space for our community.

Together, we’re creating a safe, nature-based experience surrounded by our equine helping herd and guided by mental health and equine specialists. This is a space to breathe, connect, and begin or continue your healing journey.

💚 We stand with you. Whether you're a frontline responder, medical staff, or community member—you're welcome here.

🔹 Nov 23 | 1pm–3pm For Chisago Lakes families (ages 5+) & frontline responders

Dear Acres Family and Friends ~ today we are sorry to share that we had to say goodbye to our sweet and sassy Lily. Lily has been an incredible team member for SO many years impacting countless lives with her funny personality, her sassy attitude, her soft and fluffy teddy bear ears, her amazing hair, her sweet eyes, and her love of giving hugs as she gave you her hoof to hold on to. For a long time now, Lily has been struggling with chronic pain due to metabolic issues/coffin bone rotation/bone spurs/and chronic hoof issues. We had done everything we could to try and remediate her struggles including but not limited to: supplements, pain medications of many kinds, x-rays, special farrier services every 3 - 4 weeks, massage, chiropractic, energy work, specialty hay, acupuncture, diaper booties with softening gel, specialized casting etc. Unfortunately, none of these were effective in providing any sort of long-term relief. And as we knew that her condition would not ever improve, and knowing that we could not stay on top of her pain and provide her relief, we had to make the difficult decision to say goodbye. We know that she is now in heaven with her brother Ollie, her good friends Amulia, Mama and Mini, and her long ago heartthrob Zach. So grateful for the team at Sunrise Equine for being here to provide her with such a safe, respectful, and peaceful passing as she nibbled sweet grass and grain with molasses as she drifted off across the rainbow bridge.
