Today was full of smiles, laughter, and heartfelt moments in The Neighborhood!

We were thrilled to receive letters and colorful drawings from Linwood Elementary School in honor of "National Letter to an Elder Day"! One of our wonderful volunteers from upstairs joined us and read several letters out loud, sparking lots of laughter, sweet “awww” moments, and meaningful conversation.

Our residents loved hearing the thoughtful questions from the students, such as "what's your favorite color?" or "how old are you?" - none of us wanted to answer that one!

We wrote all the questions down and answered them together as a group. We’re already excited to write letters back and continue this special connection across generations.

Thank you, Linwood Elementary, for brightening our day and reminding us how powerful a simple letter can be!

Amira Choice Residents Go for Gold… in Co****le! 🏅

The Neighborhood had their very own Olympic Tournament — Co****le style! From impressive trick shots to last-minute comebacks, the competition kept everyone on the edge of their seats!

There were cheers, high-fives, and plenty of laughs as residents tossed their way toward victory. Our game was all about camaraderie, confidence, and having FUN together!

🥧 In the words of a Neighborhood resident, “Apple pie without cheese is like a kiss without a squeeze!”This week we celebrated “Pie Day Friday” by visiting Village Inn, enjoyed a nice afternoon with a small group of residents, sharing fond memories of cooking and baking experiences in their earlier years.

Our residents had a wonderful time painting adorable Valentine’s gnomes - we also shared some fun and fascinating facts about gnomes — from their folklore origins as garden protectors to their reputation for bringing good luck and guarding treasures.

Laughter, stories, and a little magic made for a perfect afternoon. We love seeing creativity shine and hearts full!

Happy Presidents' Day from The Neighborhood at Amira Choice Forest Lake! We celebrated by learning about our presidents and playing a presidential race game (Washington won our first round and Roosevelt won our second!).

We also asked the residents what they would do if they were president - solving world hunger, world peace, and ending poverty were high on their priority lists. 🇺🇸

Love was in the air all week long!

We’ve been celebrating Valentine’s Day with so many sweet and joyful moments. From our festive Valentine’s Party, to tapping our toes and singing all the songs during Classic Love Songs Music Bingo, the smiles have been nonstop!

We also spent time chatting with our wonderful Neighborhood residents about their best dating advice and the many things they love most — wisdom, stories, and a whole lot of heart were shared. Of course, no Valentine’s celebration would be complete without enjoying some delicious chocolate! 🍫

One of the most special moments of all was reading the beautiful Valentine’s cards made by the thoughtful kids from Faith Lutheran Church.

🍽️💛 Last week we celebrated Culinary Service Appreciation Week, and at our assisted living community, this team holds such a special place in residents’ daily lives.

Meals here are more than just food , they’re moments of comfort, connection, routine, and joy. From remembering favorite dishes to taking the time for special requests, our culinary staff helps make every day feel familiar and cared for.

They’re up early, working behind the scenes, and pouring their hearts into every plate served. The laughter in the dining room, the stories shared over coffee, and the smiles after a favorite dessert say it all.

We are truly blessed to be supported by Ecumen Hospice who kicked off our week with a heartwarming Valentine's celebration, filling our residents' hearts with love through music, delightful valentines cookies, and engaging activities with “love bugs” in The Neighborhood during lunch. Their selfless dedication to caring for our residents alongside our team is a testament to their compassion and kindness, and we extend our deepest gratitude for their tender loving care. ❤️💕 💌

Go Red for Heart Health at Amira Choice Forest Lake! ❤️

Today, February 6th, our community is proud to support the American Heart Association by wearing red to raise awareness for heart health and the fight against heart disease — the leading cause of death in the United States.

Residents and staff came together in their red attire to show support! Small steps like staying active, eating well, and caring for our hearts can make a big difference!
