Riveredge Hospital is a free-standing psychiatric facility, meaning we specialize in the treatment of behavioral health. We serve the Chicago and surrounding region by delivering specialized care to children , adolescents, young adults, adults, and geriatric persons. Physicians are on the medical staff of Riveredge Hospital, but, with limited exceptions, are independent practitioners who are not employees or agents of Riveredge Hospital. This is a time dedicated to raising awareness of the unique mental health and substance use challenges minority groups may face and improving their access to mental health services. Studies suggest that racial and sexual minorities show higher levels of anxiety, suicidal tendencies, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other mental health disorders. The Village of Oak Park sponsored it's 51st "A Day in Our Village" this month. The premier community festival in Scoville Park serves as an annual celebration of Oak Park’s diversity and community involvement. We were amongst more than 100 resource booths representing Oak Park's civic, cultural, social service, educational and religious organizations that filled the park.
