Back in November, Aperion Care wound care professionals came together for our 10th Annual Wound Care Symposium—a day dedicated to learning, sharing best practices, and advancing clinical care.

We were proud to celebrate our very own Valencia Jefferson, LPN, who was named the 2025 Wound Care Coordinator of the Year! Congratulations! 🎉

Valencia began her nursing journey as a floor nurse with Aperion Care Forest Park in 2022 and transitioned into the wound care department in 2023. She has a true passion for her work, her team and the healing process, and shares that her experience in wound care has made her a stronger, more well-rounded nurse.

Valencia's impact speaks volume: she recently launched a proactive program to identify residents at risk for skin breakdown. and implemented a turning and repositioning plan across her team, earning her this award.
