For decades, researchers have demonstrated the link between oral health and other health conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and even arthritis. New research from the American Stroke Association shows that flossing even a few times per week can significantly reduce your risks for several types of stroke and an irregular heartbeat as well. Taking just a minute or two to add flossing to your routine is a small, simple way to keep yourself healthy and your smile looking its best!

Have you heard of a baby having a tongue tie? Bands of tissue called frena connect the underside of the tongue and the inside of the lips to the gums. If these bands are too tight or too short, referred to as a tongue tie or lip tie, it can affect the way the tongue and lips move, leading to difficulty eating or speaking normally, damage to the gums, and misalignments of the teeth.

Frenectomy is a procedure to release overly tight frena to improve function and prevent oral health issue. While we frequently recommend this procedure for babies and young children, older kids, teens, and even adults can sometimes benefit!

We perform this procedure using advanced laser technology that instantly seals the area, making the process quick and much more comfortable than traditional surgery, with a faster and more predictable healing process!

We all know stress is no fun. Most of us are also aware that stress can affect our physical health. But did you know stress can also take a toll on your teeth?

Chronic stress can lead to teeth grinding, dry mouth, sores and ulcers, sensitive teeth, TMJ pain and headaches, broken and chipped teeth, and even an increased risk of cavities. According to a survey by the American Dental Association, 70% of dentists have noticed more people with stress-related oral health problems in recent years.

If it's been a while since your last dental visit, get in touch with our team to make sure stress isn't wearing on your smile!

Missing teeth don't just make it hard to smile with confidence. They can also affect your ability to eat a full variety of foods, making it harder to get adequate nutrition. Research also shows that people with missing teeth are at a higher risk of cognitive issues like dementia and Alzheimer's disease. In fact, each additional missing tooth increases that risk even more.

Fortunately, we can replace missing teeth with dental bridges, dental implants, and full or partial dentures. That means you can enjoy a more confident smile, functional bite, and better brain function. If you're looking for a way to replace missing teeth in Forestville, CA or the surrounding areas, our team is here to give your smile the personalized care it deserves.
