Hello Overland Grove! This is for families with students attending Johnson elementary this school year.

Many parents park in the Overland Grove neighborhood and walk up to the school to drop off and pick up each school day. In an effort to keep two-way traffic flowing on Almond Drive and Garden Grove Lane, there will be new regulations surrounding where you can park. We discussed and passed the following during our city council meeting this evening.

Parking will only be allowed on the outer loop of these streets. (See attached slide) There will be striping on the pavement to indicate areas you are allowed to park in. There will be no parking signs on the side of the street you are not allowed to park on. Forney PD will be present the first few days of school to make sure everyone knows where to park and to make this a smooth transition.

We want to be good neighbors to our friends in the community who live on these streets. We want to to keep students safe with where cars are allowed to park. We also need to keep enough room on these streets that first responders can get through if there is an emergency in this area during peak drop off/pick up times. L👀K no further! This Sunday, September 18th, 2022 @4:30pm; I will be a panelist on a Virtual Mental Health Teen Summit. Although the target audience is ages 10-19, all ages over 10 are invited.

Check out Part 1 of a 4 Part Series. This could be the very thing you learn to save a loved one from taking their life or you from taking your own.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY FROM MY FAMILY TO YOURS!!!

This nation has come such a long way from July 4, 1776 to now July 4th, 2022.

I Would like to say thank you to the veterans that have fought for our Country and to the soldiers that are fighting for our Country now to be independent.

I am proud to have served this amazing United States of America. 1984 to 2004.

Today, me and my amazing granddaughter, who is a gift from God, did the 5K walk for Memorial Day here in our wonderful city of Forney, TX to honor the Soldiers that lost their lives fighting for this great country we call home.
