💭Routines can help reduce stress for seniors by assisting them in maintaining some control over their day-to-day life. It provides a sense of independence and can encourage seniors to maximize their physical and cognitive abilities.

💭 Routines can also be invaluable when memory and cognitive difficulties develop. A daily schedule can be especially effective for seniors developing dementia. Although a senior with dementia may not be fully aware of this routine, performing the same activities each day can help them feel safe.

🔷 We encourage our residents to adhere to a daily schedule. Still, we are flexible in knowing that each day is different and remain mindful of our resident’s preferences and prior routine. GRAL looks to find ways to collaborate with the resident and their loved ones to incorporate a daily routine that works.

🎉I want to introduce Chef Michael Steele to the team. Here, at Genacy Residential Assisted Living, we pride ourselves on upholding the “Genacy Standard” in every way. Our resident’s nutrition is no different. GRAL offers nutritious, chef-prepared meals three times a day. We are also able to accommodate residents who require dietary modifications.

💭Mr. Steele developed a love for cooking at an early age. He was born and raised in South Louisiana in the Greater New Orleans area. His passion for cooking continued to grow into adulthood, where he worked his way from becoming a sous chef to an executive chef to owning a successful catering business. Mr. Steele studied Culinary Arts at Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts in Boulder, Colorado. We are pleased to welcome Mr. Michael Steele into the Genacy Family.
