Jodi’s journey into pelvic health is one of service, resilience, and deep personal connection. From joining the Missouri Army National Guard as a medic at just 17, to serving in Iraq and responding to Hurricane Katrina and Rita, her path has always been rooted in helping others.

After years working in labor & delivery, personal training, and occupational therapy, Jodi discovered her true calling in pelvic health rehabilitation—a passion that was also shaped by her own experience with pelvic floor dysfunction. That personal insight fuels her dedication to helping others reclaim their quality of life through compassionate, preventative, and empowering care.

With her Pelvic Rehab Fertility Specialist (PRFS) certification, Jodi expands her ability to support individuals navigating pelvic health and fertility challenges with the same heart for service that has guided her entire career.

We’re honored to welcome Jodi into the PRFS community!

Just like therapy is standard care after a joint replacement, it should also be standard care after giving birth. 🤰

Postpartum pelvic floor therapy can play a huge role in helping women recover and transition after delivery, whether birth was vaginal or by C-section.

At Optimize Pelvic Health & Wellness, we meet moms exactly where they are in their postpartum journey and work with them to rebuild strength, restore function, and regain their confidence. 💪✨

❓Can my pelvic floor be too tight?

Yes! An overly tight pelvic floor can cause real, disruptive symptoms, and they should NOT be brushed off as “just being a woman” or “just getting older.”

Signs of a tense pelvic floor can include:
✨ Frequent urination
✨ Pain with in*******se
✨ Tailbone pain
✨ Straining to have a bowel movement.. plus more!

These symptoms are common, but they are not normal. We regularly treat patients experiencing pelvic floor tension and help them return to a more comfortable, confident, and enjoyable life.

If any of these symptoms sound familiar, let’s talk. You deserve relief. 🫶

Forsythia 5k is this Saturday! Who’s going?!

03/01/2026

As we say good-bye to February, I want to leave with a different perspective on pelvic health. Pelvic Floor therapy is an opportunity for women/men to improve their overall health and wellness, both from a pelvic floor perspective and general health/preventative perspective. February is American Heart Month and heart disease is the leading cause of death in women and men.

How does this relate to pelvic floor? So many people are unable to exercise because of urinary/fecal incontinence, prolapse, pain, etc.

If your goal is to be able to improve strength, endurance, or to regain a healthy lifestyle...then let's chat! Don't let pelvic floor dysfunction stop you from being healthy and fit. Don't settle for "just wear a pad", we can do better in 2026!!

💡Commonly asked questions regarding pelvic health and wellness...

❓ Do I have to have a vaginal assessment?
We only perform vaginal assessments with your explicit consent. In fact, we typically do not assess the pelvic floor muscles during the initial evaluation because many individuals are not yet ready or comfortable. This portion of care can always be deferred until you feel prepared.

That said, when appropriate and desired, pelvic floor assessment can be one of the most important and impactful tools we use in treatment.

You are welcome to attend your appointment alone or bring a support person. This is your opportunity for improvement, and we will support you every step of the way.

For additional reassurance:
❌ We do not use stirrups
❌ We do not use a speculum
