Introducing a New Early Morning Class with Georgie – Starting Friday, May 16th! You asked, and we listened. Begin your Fridays with intention and vitality at our 7:00 AM Revitalize & Strengthen Warm Flow Yoga – a 60-minute energizing practice designed to awaken your body and center your mind for the day ahead.

Awaken your body and mind with a morning revitalize and strengthen flow. Start your day with your breath and dynamic movement that combines invigorating flow sequences with deep strengthening poses to help you feel both renewed and empowered. The class is designed to warm the body from the inside out, improve flexibility, build muscle strength, and have you leaving class ready to take on the day.

All levels of practitioners are welcomed, this class offers a balance of challenge and relaxation, helping you build both physical and mental resilience. Come rise and revitalize your body and spirit, starting your day by getting into your body.

Welcoming Joy to the Rise team! Starting this Tuesday and Thursday, Joy will be teaching VinYin Yoga weekly at 9am!

Raised by an energy worker who also practiced massage therapy and yoga, my journey to yoga began years before I practiced asana. When a middle-school teacher decided to lead our class through a yoga flow during a rainy day indoor P.E class, I found myself in triangle pose and in love. For many years my sporadic yoga practice found me during the hardest of times, and it felt like the universe telling me that I was going to be okay. Several years ago I committed myself to a 30 day yoga journey, and I was transformed. I realized that I wanted to learn how to guide others towards that feeling as well. I completed my 200-hour YTT, and found myself passionate about Yin yoga, breathwork, and the wonder that comes from matching breath to movement.

VinYin Yoga
9am Tuesdays & Thursdays

This class begins with invigorating vinyasa movement to gently warm the body, using movement to build strength and flexibility. After we warm up we find release and surrender in juicy yin poses. Students leave feeling balanced and restored, ready for the rest of their day. All levels.

Welcoming Georgie to the Rise team! Starting this Monday, Georgie will be teaching Warm Slow Flow Yoga at 4pm on Mondays!

Georgie is a certified 200-hour yoga teacher, passionate about movement and the medicine it is. She has been practicing yoga for five years and loves sharing what she’s learned from her practice. Georgie aspires to create a class where there’s balance, play, self-expression and softness.

Weaving themes through her classes and using imagery to help students connect to postures. You may find her classes to be a slower paced flow and for there to be longer holds in postures. Cultivating strength and stability, while also softening, expanding.

When Georgie isn’t practicing yoga she enjoys painting, playing in nature and spending time with her loved ones.

Warm Slow Flow Yoga
Mondays at 4pm

Melt into movement with this gently heated, slow-paced class designed to nourish the body and soften the mind. In this warm environment, you’ll move with intention through a series of grounding postures, and breathing exercises. You can expect longer holds, creative sequencing and plenty of time to have your fullest expression within each shape. All levels are welcome and I look forward to flowing with you. Room is heated to 85-90F

Exciting updates to the Rise weekly class schedule! Join us in welcoming Serena Acker, along with other new classes starting this week!

Serena has been teaching yoga for 10 years. She trained in Costa Rica with Marianne Wells but has learned most through dedicated practice in our local community. Linking movement with breath and core connection, she weaves together active and more gentle postures in a creative and playful sequence leaving the body feeling balanced and strong. In the last five years she has also begun a love affair with Pilates and Barre, both of which have inspired her teaching. Serena believes that yoga, and movement in general, is a way to better understand ourselves, create community and connect to the energies of the planet.

Welcoming Kim to the Rise team! Starting Feb. 1st, Kim will be teaching two yoga classes on Saturday mornings!

10am-11am Saturday
Sweet & Deep Flow
Nourish your whole being in this all levels class. Expect to go beyond just the physical body using dynamic movements led by breath to help soften the mind and dissolve stuck energy. We will move the body, mind and breath into a state of stillness allowing our highest wisdom to naturally arise.

11:15am-12:15am Saturday
Yin Yoga
Ground the body/mind and create more spaciousness in this practice done mostly on the floor. Poses are held for longer periods of time with support of props. The emphasis on breath will gently ease the body open and release stored tension. Show up and breathe. The rest is optional.

Kimberly Millard is a certified Clinical Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT), a Lead Teacher Trainer with Shivakali Yoga (E-RYT 500), an Ayurveda Health Counselor(AHC 750 ), and a Crystal Bowl Sound Facilitator.

Kim's teachings are informed by transmissions from a variety of masters, integrating her extensive training in yoga philosophy, pranayama, meditation, and therapeutic yoga. With a focus on the subtle body, she incorporates the vibrational power of harmonium, mantra, and crystal bowls to guide students toward their own innate wisdom and self-healing capacity.

Through years of study and practice, Kim has embraced a life of simplicity, sustainability, and harmony with nature's rhythms. She is deeply grateful to live completely off-grid along the beautiful California coast.

Welcoming Heather to the Rise team! Starting this Friday, Heather will be teaching Bikram Yoga weekly, a 90 minute HOT 26+2 series class at 11am!

Bikram Yoga is a style of Hatha Yoga. This traditional 90 minute class consists of 26 postures (asanas) and 2 breathing exercises (pranayama). We practice in a room heated to 105 degrees which promotes flexibility, detoxification, and mental focus. The sequence of asanas is designed systematically to work every joint, muscle, and organ system in your body. Each pose is held for a specific time to focus on alignment. Meant for beginners or advanced practitioners!

Meet Heather! She is a newly certified Bikram Yoga instructor. “I will be a life long student of yoga. When I found hot yoga specifically, it was something unlike any other type of exercise. As time went on, yoga has became more than the asanas, it constantly gives me a new outlook on life, deepens self love, and positivity that I want to share with everyone. My goal for each class that I teach is to empower you to be your highest self. When I’m not on my mat, I love trail running with my dog, enjoying the Mendocino coast, or skiing in the winter."

Join us on January 18th for this Intro to Acroyoga Workshop hosted by Larissa Maple and Chris Richardson!

Combining acrobatics, yoga, and therapeutics, Acroyoga brings a little something extra to the studio space. In this beginner workshop Chris and Larissa will guide you through the fundamentals and foundations of the AcroYoga practice. During the 2-hour workshop, you will be introduce to basic poses and flows in a fun, safe environment; all weaved together with partner drills, games, accessible progression, and lots of good energy! This workshop is for those with little to no experience with Acroyoga or for those who would like to fine-tune their skills.

What you will learn:

- basics of flying and basing

- importance of spotting techniques to AcroYoga safely

- Communication and team-building skills --

- How to move our bodies together in fun creative ways.

What you need to know:

Welcoming back Anabelle to the Rise team! Her NEW WEEKLY CLASS starts tomorrow! Join Anabelle every Wednesday at 4pm for Warm Therapeutic Flow Yoga.

Warm Therapeutic Flow: Room is heated to 90 degrees. Focused on increasing self-exploration, this therapeutic yoga class is designed to create more space in the mind and body through intention, breath, dynamic movement, and stillness. We will start by grounding through meditation, breath, and intention, followed by fluid movement and held stretches. The class ends with a guided relaxation practice in Shavasana. Great for all levels seeking stillness and strength, both internally and externally.

After taking some time traveling abroad, she has settled back on the Mendocino Coast. "Hi, I’m Anabelle! I grew up in Mendocino and started my yoga journey teaching at the Stanford Inn. After completing my 200-hour training in Ecuador, I’ve taught at resorts in the Amazon, mountains, and beach. I blend styles like Yin, Vinyasa, Hatha, and Kundalini to create slow, mindful classes that help you release tension and connect with the present moment. I also co-host women’s retreats and healing workshops, combining yoga, nature, and community for a truly grounding experience."

NEW AFTERNOON CLASSES STARTING NEXT WEEK! Welcoming back Angela Carpenter to the Rise team! After spending time traveling abroad, she has settled back onto the Mendocino Coast. Angela is now teaching Warm Hatha Flow Yoga on Mondays from 4-5pm. ⁠

This class builds strength and flexibility through dynamic movement and held postures. Drop into your body, take a moment to pause, and release the chatter of the monkey mind. As we heat up both internally and externally, tension melts away, allowing us to enter a deeper sense of calm. On a good day, this class will highlight the importance of nothing.⁠

"Hi, I’m Angela Carpenter, born and raised in Mendocino, California. Growing up along the beautiful coast, I developed a deep connection to nature and community. After spending time living and exploring nearby and distant places, I’m happy to have returned home, and to share my love of yoga with the Rise community.⁠

While yoga has been present in my life for as long as I can remember, it was during my college years that my personal practice truly deepened, culminating in my yoga teacher training (YTT) in Costa Rica where I completed my 200 hours. I am grateful for how the practice of yoga teaches me so much about how we move through different shapes and cycles in life. In my classes, you are always encouraged to listen to your body, taking the time and space to restore, rejuvenate, and feel renewed."⁠
