Stacey Robbins
New Phoenix Rising Distributor Extraordinaire
Our Interview with Stacey
Introduction
In this ongoing series, we present to you another member of the family of Customers and Distributors that represent the soul, character and community of the New Phoenix Rising experience. We have had the good fortune to have a long friendship with New Phoenix Rising Distributor, Stacey, her husband Rock, and their 2 absolutely lovely sons Caleb and Seth. We have watched many changes in their lives and admired their ability to make a shift when they realized what they were doing did not suit their intentions and purpose. We find them fascinating and amazing and we think you'll find this interview with New Phoenix Rising Co-founder Lyndia Leonard & Stacey Robbins worth reading! Here’s a recent conversation with these two dynamic women…
Lyndia
Stacey, you are currently celebrating your 36th anniversary with your husband Rock, both your boys are in the process of being successfully launched, you are an international traveler, hosting yearly workshops in Europe, you have written several books celebrating your lives & learnings, and you have an ongoing coaching practice. Rock is employed in the tech world and is “The Rock” in keeping all of your website in order along with his busy life. You are both sharing the wisdom gained from this (as you would describe) beautiful and sometimes messy life that just keeps unfolding in interesting and miraculous ways. Let’s start with your books.
What inspired you to write each one?
Stacey
I love to tell stories of our real life because it allows people to see themselves in the story and to have their own a–ha moments for their lives. My books so far include:
God Loves Me I Think…Stories from Hell, Heaven and the Other Side of Texas
This book is my exodus from being religiously stuck to spiritually ‘free’. I wrote it so that people who were sitting in churches and serving on platforms for a God that felt far away, could know that they weren’t alone in the questions and unraveling of their faith.
An Unconventional Life: Where Messes and Magic Collide
These are the stories of our family adventures from a 4 year-indoor camping experiment where we turned off almost all the breakers… to being ‘creatively homeless’ and traveling across the world on a Magical Healing Adventure… to becoming ninjas and using everything hard in our life to get to the ‘high places’ within ourselves– and so much more. The book was birthed from a desire to record the magic for my children to read one day to remember their power – and to remind every reader that magical things can come from messy places.
You’re Not Crazy and You’re Not Alone
Losing the Victim, Finding Your Sense of Humor and Learning to Love Yourself through Hashimoto’s
My journey from being a sexy professional musician to symptoms that put me in pain and gaining over 100 pounds in 9 months and being told I was dying (and that if I did live, I’d never have children). It ended up being Hashimoto’s (an autoimmune dis-ease that affects the thyroid) but I took a very spiritual, honest, and humorous approach to healing and put it in a book for other women with Hashimoto’s so that they would know they’re not crazy and alone – and that our diagnosis doesn’t mean the end of our health; it can be the beginning of our healing.
Bloom Beautiful
These original quotes by me and playful designs by Susannah Parrish are the reminders that life is more beautiful when it’s planted in love.

Please tell us about your successful marriage… 36 years is a long time….. will you give us a couple of important tips?
Stacey
Marriage is a mirror and you can’t wipe the pimple off the mirror. It works better when you work on yourself instead of trying to fix the other person.
If you have a button installed by your family of origin that isn’t healed, your partner will find it and push it repeatedly. Not because they’re trying to make you crazy, but they’re trying to show you where the crazy lives so that you can bring healing to the crazy.
Happy marriages don’t make happy people. Happy people make happy marriages. If your marriage isn’t happy, cultivate your own bliss in your life with self-care, self-representation, and self-trust.
Pray for each other. It’s hard to stay pi**ed at someone you spiritually want good things for.
Play with each other. Another long conversation isn’t always the answer – sometimes playing side-by-side in a shared fun experience can mend some things that words can’t.
Stay connected in the bedroom. Physical touch is healthy and healing. It’s not a thing to punish each other by withholding, it’s a place to give and receive connection, trust, and love.

How has music influenced who you are and what you do?
Stacey
Rock and I were both professional musicians and the boys are very musical. Music touches and expresses the heart, mind, and body in its own uniquely sacred way. When I was going through my hardest times as a child, I would sit at the piano and I felt like it could cry with me, as I wrote songs and played them. It can be with you in every emotion and that’s why I think we need to be wise with what we listen to and sing – because it’s easy to get caught up in a beat or melody and then not sing life-giving words to ourselves and others. Music isn’t just a gift – it’s a responsibility – because it has the power to shift our energy and make either an uplifting or downward spiraling difference in our lives.

You and your family went for a year w/out electricity as an experiment, and I remember the LA Times doing a story on you. Why did you do this?
Stacey
Yup! We did the Indoor Camping Experiment for 4 years where we turned off all but 2 breakers in the house and lived by sunrise and sunset (I wrote a great chapter on it in my book, An Unconventional Life). We did that because I was going through a strange set of symptoms as I turned 40 that was affecting my brain. I was aware of EMF’s and thought, if I could lessen the load in the house, and make it more like that good vibe camping energy, then, maybe that would help my health. Well, we did it and the boys loved it so much – the peace, the sunrises and sunsets, the quiet, simplicity and joy – that they asked us to continue, so we did! And yes! We ended up being on ABC News, in the LA Times, and on the Top Ten Lists on the Internet for a while. We didn’t do it for any attention, but it sure got a lot of it for a while!
[editor’s note: Intrinity Plus EMF protection had not yet been introduced at the time of these events]

Your family has also incorporated BioLumina Spirulina into your mix of foods. What results have you noticed? And, would you recommend it to others?
Stacey
We love BioLumina! If I had ONE whole food supplement to bring to an island, it would be BioLumina Spirulina, for sure! Why? Because it’s so yummy in our smoothies while it mineralizes our bodies (great for the thyroid, organs, tissue, and so much more) and lifts our spiritual energy. You can’t drink a BioLumina smoothie and be sad about it. It feels like it’s full of honor and I’m SO glad I met you, Lance, Helena Guerrero and Linda Masterson when my boys were little and we started using it right away.

Magic 100: How does it serve you in creating or recreating what you want in life… What is the process?
Stacey
Magic 100 is based on an ancient Chinese Taoist practice. The monks and followers would do a spiritual practice every day for 100 days and if they missed a day, they’d start over. This was to bring about compassion, truthfulness, and endurance.
Well, I found this practice 12 years ago and started bringing my clients in to join me in an adaptation of this – where you can instead choose whatever discipline you want for 100 days – writing your book, one page a day, taking 5 supplements a day, meditating 5 minutes a day, doing yoga for 20 minutes a day, learning a language, singing, dancing, painting – drinking a BioLumina smoothie for 100 days (I did that one, too!) whatever it is, you will find your WHOLE life changes by simply doing one thing. That’s the magic!
Lyndia
Why would one want to do it… what could they expect?
Stacey
You have more self-trust and confidence… people have lost weight, gained energy, found greater peace, opened new businesses, found beautiful relationships, organized their homes… and so many more great results!
Lyndia
How can ones participate with you?
Stacey
We’re starting back up Sept 2nd for another round of 100 days and I would love for people to join us by choosing ONE thing they want to do for 100 days. We have weekly coaching, daily emails, and a wonderful private Facebook community! Link to Magic 100 in comments...
