If you are at home with nothing to keep you occupied you may be interested to hear this interview from a Chinese Medicine Doctor in Wuhan, China regarding their treatment of COVID-19. The interview is in Chinese but it is subtitled into English. His perspective is quite interesting. The complimentary approach of Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine can be much more powerful than each on it's own.

In a world where there exists storms of manipulation in the media and fake news as well as a lack of sincerity and doing what’s best for our people, we at eL...

The most important thing that you can do is take care of your immune system. Not only now but always. Many Chinese patients who were properly treated in the winter have not contracted this spring type disease.

If you have any questions of are in need of an immune boosting herbal formula, please give us a call at 964-1111.

Today, I want to share my experience treating 30 COVID-19 patients from the beginning to the end with you. I treated every single patient from admission to discharge, and I hope my experience can provide some insights for you.

I am often asked if there are any books or online resources available to help explain some of the concepts that make up Chinese Medicine. This website (chinesemedicineliving.com) is a great resource for anyone looking for a treasure trove of material on the topic that is easy to understand.

I was shown this site several years ago by one of my patients. On a recent fact finding mission I came across it again and I was really impressed how the author has expanded the site over the years. I think it could be a great resource to help gain some understanding of this fabulous system of healing.

I hope you find it as useful as I do!

Have you or someone you know served in the military? Did you know that thanks to Veterans Affairs that former service men and women qualify for free acupuncture treatments through the Veterans Choice Program?

The Veterans’ Access to Care through Choice, Accountability, and Transparency Act of 2014, also called the Veterans Choice Act, is a public law that provides funding for veterans so that they may seek treatment outside of the VA. The law stipulates you must live 40 miles away from the nearest VA hospital or be unable to get an appointment within 30 days. With our location here on the Mendocino Coast, most military veterans will qualify.

In order to have the Veterans Choice Program cover your acupuncture treatments you must call or visit your VA doctor and tell them you would like a referral to receive acupuncture at Coast Family Acupuncture. Alternatively, you can call 866-606-8198 to verify your coverage and setup an appointment or visit https://www.va.gov/opa/choiceact/for_veterans.asp

Currently the VA considers acupuncture effective for:

- Pain associated with an illness or injury

- Nausea and Vomiting after an operation

- Nausea and Vomiting related to chemotherapy

- Knee Pain from Osteoarthritis

- Low Back Pain

- Depression or other Mental Health concerns

- Substance dependency

Ginger is known in Chinese Medicine to have a warming effect, helpful to fortify our digestion. It is contra-indicated in cases of excess heat (excessive thirst, feeling of heat, constipation, Red tongue or tongue with yellow coating, and other symptoms that only your acupuncturist can accurately diagnose). For most of us though (living in the coast), ginger is a useful addition to the diet. Here is an article to learn how to grow your own at home!

By Meredith Skyer (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ginger is the perfect herb to grow indoors. It’s very low-maintenance, loves partial sunlight, and you can use parts of it at a time, leaving the rest in the soil to continue growing. Besides, it’s delicious! Really, what’s not to…

Greetings,

My name is Jason Moore, L.Ac. It is with great excitement and pride that I may introduce myself as the new Owner / Acupuncturist at Coast Family Acupuncture in Fort Bragg. I have been a student and practitioner of Chinese Medicine for over a decade and I am dedicated to providing quality, affordable care to the wonderful coastal communities of Mendocino County and beyond.

I completed my four-year Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Five Branches University in Santa Cruz (2009). In addition to my academic study in the US, I have also trained at Zhejiang Medical University in Hangzhou, China. My post-graduate employment and training has found me working alongside senior and master practitioners, including an internship / residency at one of the largest acupuncture pain relief clinics in the United States. I am a California Board Licensed Acupuncturist, Herbalist, and a National Board Certified Diplomate of Acupuncture.

In addition to my dedication to health, wellness, and helping others achieve their highest quality of life, I am also an avid outdoorsman, musician, writer, cook, traveler, and lover of all things coastal California!

In order to better serve your needs, we will be updating our website (coastfamilyacupuncture.com), and social media pages with new information, research articles, blog posts, and (soon to come) online scheduling. I welcome your feedback regarding anything that I may do to help keep you informed, up to date, and motivated in health

If you have any questions, concerns, or would just like to say “hello”, please feel free to call Megan (our office manager) or I at (707) 964-1111.

I greatly appreciate the opportunity to serve you and look forward to helping make our community stronger, healthier, and happier for years to come.

Good health and many thanks to you!

Regards,

Jason Moore, L.Ac., Dipl. Ac., MTCM
