It is my primary objective at Full Range Bodywork to address your body pain and discomfort effectively, so as to ensure your well-being of body and soundness of mind.

SOMA BLOCKING
TUI NA (Chinese Medical Massage)

ACUPRESSURE
CHINESE HERBS
THERAPEUTIC MOVEMENT

SOMA BLOCKING
Soma blocks are basically upholstered wedges that are placed under your pelvis while you are lying down on the massage table. There are a few different arrangements of the blocks depending on how your pelvis is torqued or tilted. While you’re lying on the blocks I massage your muscles and fascia to correct the patterns of imbalances that accompany the misalignment of the pelvis and spine, etc.
TUI NA
Tui Na is an ancient form of medical massage still practiced today in Chinese orthopedic hospitals. It’s the mother system of Shiatsu, Acupressure and Thai massage. Tui Na helps unblock the meridian channels, increasing circulation of the blood and free up nerve pathways.
ORTHOPEDIC CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY (OCT)
OCT specifically addresses the joints of the body through working the rhythm of the cranial and synovial fluid. This is an excellent modality for relseaing stuck, painful joints as an additional way to chiropractic treatment.
STRUCTURAL INTEGRATION (SI)
SI works the fascial structures of the body by breaking up bound tissue and lengthening it, molding your body's structural alignment back to its optimal shape and form as it was during childhood. Such work brings the body structure back into alignment with gravity, decreasing pain and increasing performance levels.
QI GONG ACUPRESSURE
Qi Gong Acupressure uses acupressure points and the meridian system to bring balance and harmony to the body with gentle, light touch. This is a great form of body work for people who prefer lighter pressure or dislike bodywork.
CHINESE HERBS
When used in conjunction with bodywork, Chinese herbs can significantly assist the recovery process of injury and chronic pain. The herbs used for these issues typically increase blood circulation, reduce inflammation and strengthen the sinews as well as relieve muscle cramping and spasming. When used in conjunction with bodywork, these herbs facilitate faster results that last longer.
THERAPEUTIC MOVEMENT
Like the Chinese herbs, simple daily exercises can dramatically increase the rate at which your body heals itself. Most of these movements help you to access your smaller, deeper muscles involved in posture and refined movements, improving your posture, poise, agility and body awareness.

TRAINING AND EDUCATIONAL HISTORY
Kurt Baker has been practicing bodywork for over 15 years. Originally trained in Swedish massage, he has since directed his focus towards clinical approaches such as Acupressure, Tui Na (Chinese medical massage), Structural Integration and Orthopedic Craniosacral Therapy. Currently, he is practicing Neuromuscular Skeletal Integration Therapy (NSIT) after studying under practitioner Richard Reis. Most of his training has been in the California Bay Area, but he has also spent time studying in Beijing, China.
In addition to bodywork Kurt also practices Chinese herbal medicine. He trained at Center for Traditional Health Arts in Petaluma, CA. There he underwent a six-year traditional apprenticeship under Sean Fannin. He finds that the incorporation of the Chinese herbal remedies with the bodywork yields the best results.
Lastly, Kurt has studied Chinese martial arts and movement arts for 20 plus years including tai chi, qi gong, physio-synthesis and muscular-tendon developmental training. He studied in Oakland, CA, at Inmotion Center, but also in Arizona, Fort Bragg and Taiwan. He has noticed that these exercises, when done slowly, and with awareness, greatly improve the bodywork. This allows your body to “hold the work” longer after the session.
TESTIMONIALS
At my first visit I really appreciated Kurt's friendliness and confidence. He really knew how to address my problem and I saw great improvement after only one session. His treatment room is peaceful and inviting and I felt very comfortable there. I have now recommended Kurt to many of my friends and family members praising his talent and skillful approach.

Kurt has a great technique for massage. When I asked him about his style, he said he went to a massage school in China! I was so amazed at his dedication to learn his craft. And it’s clear he did learn a great skill. I consider the style of massage that Kurt does to be among the best that I’ve experienced. Thank you, Kurt, this world needs more healers.

Kurt is a gentle soul with a healers touch. His workspace is comfortable and accessible and puts you in a relaxed mood when you enter through the front door. His treatments are thoughtful and thorough. It's a pleasure to be on his table. I would recommend anyone seeking bodywork to book a session with Kurt Baker.

Got my first bodywork session from Kurt and feel much more in alignment. Long term work related hip and low back issues seem to be in new positions and opened up for the first time in years. Expect a lire soreness and I’m guessing if you have real issues/injuries like myself you may need to sign on for more than the one adjustment but I feel his combination of styles/backgrounds combine well to make him a very effective body worker. Make sure to give him the full set of information. I found him very patient and attentive in hearing my whole list of issues and injuries I’ve accumulated and I could feel him processing and applying the information I gave him so don’t be shy! Kurt is great. He will fix you up!

Your hands sense the bodies inner tensions, guiding your treatment; you are receptive to feedback and offer some beneficial herbs; wish medicare paid for this kind of health care because it made me feel better than an overpriced visit to the clinic. I appreciate your work

You did a great job of realigning my body through your work. You take the time to assess my body and then work to resolve those issues.
