🧊When should I use ice?🧊

This is a common question we get at Adapt. Ice helps shift blood flow AWAY from an area. This is helpful in the first 48 hours after an intense injury to prevent excessive swelling and manage pain (think right after turning your ankle).

Long term, blood flow helps 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨, so directly icing is never a fix-all long term for chronic injuries.

Follow these simple tips make icing effective and avoid negative side effects!
✔️First 48 hours after injury
✔️Limit icing sessions to 15-20 minutes
✔️Use a towel layer between ice and skin
✔️Once you're numb, remove ice!

We hear it all the time, you've tried "sucking in" or "navel to spine" advice but you're still just not sure you're d**g it right...

In most core stability exercises, your core's job is to do just that- stabilize.. which means PREVENTING MOTION.

While sucking in, you can still bend, twist and tilt. Instead, try using your breath to create a bracing effect to stiffen at your middle and create 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺.
