Doctors are finding that the use of a Doula reduces the risk of infant mortality in poorer and underrepresented demographics, and Ohio lawmakers are writing legislation to help make them more accessible ❣️

Proponents see the bill as a way to combat the state's poor infant mortality rate, particularly among families of color who may want additional support and advocacy during the birthing process.

With that being said, I’m now proud to say I am offering my services on a sliding scale! ♥️ Message me today to see how I can support your birth and post partum needs!

The 4th trimester is so so important, and is often overlooked. More often than not, this is the time a mother (whether she’s a seasoned Mama or a new Mama) needs the most support. I offer 4th trimester support as a Post Partum Doula, and services are catered to what you (or she) needs the most.

“In the hustle of the room I peered over at my friend bent over in pain. Baby had just been born and everyone was surrounding the miracle that happened before our eyes and naturally we were all in awe of him. But I was especially in awe of her. I saw you, mama. I saw the pain in your eyes and in your face and in your body. Because this is now a new season called postpartum. We tend to forget our mamas when babies are around. We ask how baby is, what does baby need, can we hold the baby, can we buy this for the baby but... what about the mother? Let us not forget the hard work she endured to carry this child AND the hard road ahead to mother and heal and feed and rest and parent her other children also. What do mamas really need? Meals dropped off, someone to watch baby so they can shower, solid child care for her other children, house cleaners to stop by and help out. Heating pads and coffee and comfy PJs. Maybe fast food. Or a friend to fold laundry. Maybe a new movie to watch or your Netflix login. Let’s not forget the mamas. It’s just so easy to because women are incredibly strong and seem to have it all together but they need the support and the extra hands more than ever entering into that fourth trimester.”

❤❤❤WHY UPRIGHT POSITIONING?❤❤❤ The first image above shows what the pelvis looks like if a woman is lying on her back during labour. As you can see the sacrum and tailbone moves inward and takes up valuable space.

The second image shows what the pelvis looks like if a woman is in an upright and forward leaning position. Imagine the woman on hands and knees - in this position the sacrum and tailbone can move outward. This position has been proven to increase available space in the pelvis by 28-30%. Work with baby, gravity and your body.

Remember

Upright. Forward. Open.

Other benefits of upright positioning include: 👉 23% less likely to need medical assistance
👉 Baby is 54% less likely to become distressed
👉 Contractions can be more effective
👉 Time taken to push your baby out is shorter with upright positions
👉 Emergency c-sections are reduced by 29%
👉 29% reduction in episiotomy rates
👉 Reduced need for epidural
👉 Increases available space in the pelvis by 28-30% (Via cub-support .com)

Go and Google 'Why did women start giving birth on their backs?' You may be shocked by the bizarre reason.
