🌱 Navigating Crisis in Three Phases 🌱

🔹 Pre-Crisis
This is the preparation stage—taking proactive steps to avoid crisis or be ready when it arises. Sometimes, it can also look like neglecting responsibilities, which can lead to bigger challenges down the line.

🔹 Crisis Response
This phase is when the crisis unfolds. It’s about how we respond in the moment, manage the situation, and get through it one step at a time.

🔹 Post-Crisis
After the storm passes, recovery begins. This is your time to recharge, reflect, and give yourself grace. Crises can be draining, but they’re also opportunities to learn, grow, and prepare for the future.

✨ Remember: Every crisis teaches us something valuable about resilience and strength.

🌟 Today is the International Day of Charity 🌟

We want to take a moment to celebrate and recognize some of the amazing local non-profit organizations right here in Colorado that help keep our sober community thriving. Every time you attend one of their events, you’re contributing to their mission and helping ensure these vital resources remain open and available to the public.

Here are a few of the incredible organizations making a difference:

HardBeauty Foundation – HardBeauty provides coaching, resources, and events that empower individuals and communities impacted by addiction, trauma, and recovery. They are dedicated to building safe spaces for healing and connection.

D3 Arts – Located in Denver, D3 Arts is a nonprofit that uses creativity to foster community connection. They host sober events, local shows, and workshops that bring people together to heal and express themselves through community.

Advocates for Recovery Colorado – This statewide nonprofit is led by people in recovery, for people in recovery. They promote recovery through education, advocacy, and peer support, ensuring that the recovery community has a strong voice across Colorado.

Colorado Artists in Recovery – This nonprofit provides expressive art opportunities for people in recovery, offering workshops, events, and creative outlets that support healing and self-discovery.

Sober AF Entertainment (Sober AF) – Sober AF creates sober sections at concerts, festivals, and sporting events so individuals in recovery (and their friends/families) can enjoy big events in a safe, sober environment.

On this International Day of Charity, we encourage you to support these organizations by showing up, spreading the word, and celebrating the power of community. Together, we are stronger.

Happy September!

We’ve made it through the summer months, and now as the days grow shorter and the seasons begin to change, it’s more important than ever to lean into community. Many people experience a dip in mood this time of year, often referred to as seasonal depression. 🐾 It’s National Dog Day! 🐾
Our furry friends are so much more than pets—they’re loyal companions who bring unconditional love, joy, and support when life gets tough.

Today, we’re celebrating by highlighting two of our alumni’s dogs to showcase the incredible role animals can play in recovery.

For many in recovery, animals provide comfort during difficult moments, help reduce stress and anxiety, and remind us of the importance of routine, responsibility, and unconditional love. Their presence can be grounding, healing, and a reminder that we are never alone on this journey.

This past weekend, we were honored to join the North Colorado Health Alliance (NCHA) and so many incredible organizations for Overdose Awareness Day events in Greeley, Loveland, and Fort Collins. 💜

We’re deeply grateful to be part of such a collaborative and compassionate community—one that consistently shows up for those on their recovery journey and walks alongside loved ones with empathy and strength. Community support is what makes this work possible.

And we’re not stopping here—consciousness-raising continues this week at AspenRidge Recovery!

📚 New this October – AspenRidge Recovery Book Club!

We’re so excited to announce that starting the first week of October, AspenRidge will be launching a Book Club—and you’re invited to join us for our first read:
“Sensitive Is the New Strong” by Anita Moorjani 💛

This empowering book explores how sensitivity, empathy, and intuition are incredible strengths—not weaknesses. It’s a must-read for everyone—no matter your gender, identity, or age (18 to 80+)! If you’ve ever felt “too much,” this book might just change your perspective.

✨ For current clients and alumni: We have 10 hardcopies available to borrow across our centers!
Each center will lend them out—but books must be returned after we finish the read.
📅 You’ll have 10 days after the final meeting to return your copy—otherwise, a lost book fee may apply.

📢 Hardcopies will go fast, so be sure to reach out to Mac at 720-778-1492 to claim your copy before October starts!

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to grow, reflect, and connect through literature.
📖 Stay tuned for meeting times and reading schedule!
