Jennifer Lusk, MS, LPC

Jennifer Lusk, MS, LPC Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) I have been practicing psychotherapy for 18 years and have worked with a variety of life issues.

My approach is integrative, using several methods, including Brainspotting, EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), DBT, Emotional Freedom Technique, Compassion Focused, Interpersonal, Family Systems, Humanistic and am naturally inclined toward body oriented, somatic awareness and mindfulness practices. I have a special love in using Brainspotting as a processing tool and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), as I have seen such positive results with these methods, which help my clients move through a variety of issues and concerns. My primary focus is to bring more self awareness, insight and attention to our unique patterns we do in life and in bringing self compassion and acceptance to ourselves and our process. I have specialized focus in working with codependency issues, anxiety, trauma and PTSD, Highly Sensitive Persons and working through the fallout from narcissistic abuse. I am with you in the process of growing in your sense of self and want to work with you toward your goals in our time together. In my free time, I am a lover of nature and connect there when I can. I have a special interest in exploring the Enneagram, and bring some doses of that into the work with my clients. I enjoy being active in my body including dancing, swimming, hiking and yoga and I hold certification as a Healing Touch Level III practitioner, Nia instructor and yoga instructor. I look forward to the opportunity to assist you through the emotions, the new understandings, growth, clarity and discovery. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have about my approach to our work. I would be honored to work with you! With you in the journey,
Jennifer

“Healing isn’t about becoming someone new.

It’s about returning to who you were before the world taught you to be small.

Before “too much” and “not enough.”

Before the armor and the performance.

Before you learned to abandon yourself to belong to others.

You’re not discovering yourself.

You’re remembering.” ~ Linnea Butler

10 WAYS TO SOOTHE BOTH OF YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEMS:

1. “We don’t have to figure this out right now”

2. “You don’t need to explain it to me, I trust you”

3. “Lets pause and get back to this tomorrow when we have a clear mind”

4. “I trust you know what’s best and I’m here to listen”

5. “Are you looking for advice, I have some ideas. If not I’m happy to just listen”

6. “We’ll always figure it out, together.”

7. “I know you don’t mean it that way”

8. “You’re not in trouble and you’ve done nothing wrong, this is just so I can understand what happened here”

9. “If you need extra time, let’s talk about it.”

10. “I appreciate your time, thank you so much”

“Whatever is occurring in the present moment is what we need to deal with right now. Staying with our real experience of ourselves and our situation will teach us exactly what we need to know for growth.”
