Today we celebrate the mothers, grandmothers, daughters, and women whose love shapes families, traditions, and generations.

Mother’s Day at MorningStar is about more than flowers and brunches. It is about honoring the wisdom, strength, warmth, and unconditional love that make a house feel like home and a family feel connected.

Across our communities, we are grateful for the opportunity to celebrate the remarkable women who have cared for, encouraged, supported, and inspired those around them for so many years.

Last weekend we had our Kentucky Derby Community party! It was a night to remember! The Exec Chef served up a wonderful down south meal that both tasted and smelled incredible! All who attended absolutely loved the bluegrass band we brought in and even jumped in to cut up the rug!

It was just beautiful to see everyone kicking up their heels and having a ball! Two gift baskets were awarded to the lucky winners of the “Run to the Roses” scratch tickets and one for the most creative hat! We even got a photo of our Executive Director, Mary, and a very special resident, Jan, dancing!

Getting ready for our upcoming Kentucky Derby celebration!
Residents spent the day creating their own amazing hats. From bold and colorful to classic and elegant, each one was a true work of art.

The best part was seeing everyone cheering each other on, sharing ideas, and helping one another bring their creations to life. There were so many great smiles and plenty of laughter along the way.

It has been a week full of smiles, laughter, and unforgettable moments. From a beautiful outing to the Butterfly House to playful moments during acro drumming, our residents have been staying active, engaged, and full of joy. We even had a few spring bunnies hopping around and plenty of two thumbs up moments along the way.

In honor of the Pony Express’s first delivery to San Francisco on April 14, 1860, we kicked off April with a Wild West celebration! 🤠

Residents enjoyed a Lewis & Clark presentation with trivia, Wild West Bingo, and a “Spurs & Spirits” Happy Hour. The day was topped off with a special western performance from a resident’s daughter—complete with sing-alongs to old favorites!

It was a fun, educational day filled with great memories (and maybe a few chocolate bunny rewards 😉).

We had such a fun and meaningful week here at MS FTC! From potato bowling and our lively St. Patrick’s Day party to sweet moments of connection—like a Reflections resident caring for a friend and a joyful high-five between a caregiver and resident—it was a week full of smiles. Jack kicked off the holiday with six Irish songs at breakfast, with Jim joining in on the piano, and we were honored to welcome MSU guest speaker Annie Mullins, who traveled from Ireland to share the rich history of Saint Patrick with warmth and humor. 💚🍀
