Stay hydrated folks, “Drink your water” 💧 it is a mood booster.
Your hydration status doesn’t just affect your body; it also impacts your mood and brain health. Our brain is 75 percent water. So, when we get dehydrated, our brain can actually shrink! Even mild dehydration has been shown to change our brain function.
Not drinking enough fluids has also been shown to increase sleepiness and fatigue, lower energy, and reduce alertness. It may even increase feelings of confusion.
Staying hydrated can impact our long-term health, too. Studies suggest that proper hydration may lower our risk of developing heart disease and cancer.
Unless you have a condition, like heart or kidney failure, or your physician advises you to restrict your fluid intake, Dr. Greger’s Daily Dozen recommendation is to get at least five 12 oz servings of water or tea per day (60 oz total). Get inspired by http://bit.ly/DDchallenge.
