A gentle look at how the body and emotions respond when safety suddenly feels broken. We all long for safety. When we feel safe enough, our shoulders drop, our breath deepens, and connection flows more easily—with ourselves and with those we love. But sometimes, in an instant, that sense of safety...

Life changes when you stop seeing your emotions as problems to fix - and start seeing them as signals you can trust.

When we begin to heal from attachment wounds, our internal world transforms, and so does the way we see everything around us. We shift from surviving to living. "The rise of the Internet and smart phones has created a proliferation of “sexting” between adults and, even more concerning, youths. The term sexting is used generally to encompass a wide variety of digital activities: sending, receiving, or forwarding sexually explicit messages, photographs, or images. Although mobile phones are the most common vehicle for sexting, the term can also apply to sending sexually explicit messages through any digital media such as email, instant messaging, and/or social media sites."

"Brene Brown is one of my favorite researchers because she tackles some very difficult topics. Brene has done research that has uncovered how shame works; how it debilitates instead of motivates, how it destroys rather than builds up. In one of these projects, Brene narrowed down the difference between those who had a strong sense of love and belonging from those who did not have this in their lives. There was only one variable that separated the two groups. The people who had a strong sense of love and belonging BELIEVED they were worthy of love and belonging. That’s it. They believed they were worthy."

"When was the last time you had a conversation with your spouse about something other than work or the kids?
how do I connect with my spouse northern colorado therapyIt happens to the best of us. We know communication is important, but we get caught in a rut that goes something like this:

“How was your day?”

“Fine.”

End of conversation.

Sound familiar?

It’s easy to slip into routines that function to get work done, and everyone fed, transported, and kept alive for one more day."
