Held Space Healing Studio and other Wonders Embodiment and Healing through Touch, Poetry, and Nature Held Space Healing is an LLC located in Fort Collins, Colorado. I specialize in custom sessions.

Space is held open for whatever needs to arise to promote greater peace of being, health, and wholeness. My practice is grounded in compassion, experience, and continuing education built on a 1025-hour CMT from the Rocky Mountain Institute of Healing Arts earned in 2006. In addition to my experiences in private practice, I have worked in various spas and was part of a team of all types of practitioners at The Alaska Center for Natural Medicine. Men are welcome, but I have a passion for serving women. LGBTQIA welcome. Open to sliding-scale payments and trades, too. Present, educated healing touch is for everyone! I specialize in relaxing Swedish, neuromuscular, a vibrational treatment with seven quartz "singing" bowls, pregnancy massage, and a grounding hot stone treatment of surrender and connection. My art sneaks in, too, often celebrating playfulness, color, mystery, sacred intentions, flow, essence, and beauty. I honor creativity as an important part of our humanity.

Therapeutic touch and basic knowledge of the human body are powerful, and I hope for both to be more accessible and understood.

You can start with yourself. Touch yourself lovingly with the intention of healing. Trust your intuition. Touch and breath are wise guides. Curious, slow, kind movements can do much.

I've completed my Craniosacral Fascial Release training. CSFR is a light-touch therapeutic approach of rich presence and intention to feel the pulse of the cerebrospinal fluid. To liberate and help allow a balanced expression of cerebrospinal fluid, CSFR gently attends to skull sutures as well as the spine, sacrum, meninges, and fascia.

With gratitude for the past year, I'm leaving Living Arts Wellness in two weeks to reassess what I want my healing practice to look like moving forward; still, I have one remaining appointment on Sunday May 5 - you can book for CSFR, lymph, massage, or some combination of two or all three: https://www.livingartswellness.com/our-therapists/erica-waters/

Tomorrow I begin a MLD certification to become a Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapist.

This gentle, rhythmic soft-tissue mobilization can promote relaxation, ‌strengthen immunity, and detox the body from toxins. There are some contraindications, but almost everyone can receive MLD and benefit. Additionally, MLD can help relieve conditions like edema, inflammation, migraines, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, recovery from surgery, tinnitus, and more.

This training is an addition to my 1,025 hour CMT for massage therapy, nearly 20 years of experience as a massage therapist, and hundreds of hours of continuing education in the field of bodywork and healing. I'm continuing my partnership with Living Arts Wellness in downtown Fort Collins Sundays from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Book @ https://www.schedulicity.com/scheduling/LAMQFQ

Boundaries are healthy. Honesty about our needs and preferences can help us find stronger middle ground with others - especially when they too have a listening ear and a willingness to be vulnerable and share their truth. Nedra Glover Tawwab offers numerous tools to help us consider boundaries, which I consider to be one of the foundations of personal health and healthy relationships. Here's a good introduction:

Not sure I ever shared these two poems with lovely artwork by Sharece Randrup. The poems have been revised since publication, but I'm still proud to be featured by my beloved UAF:https://news.uaf.edu/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/Aurora_fall2014_Nanook-Nook.pdf
