These days, insurance policies come with high deductibles. One way to pay these high deductibles is by using a flex spending or health savings account. This is a special account where you are allowed to place money from your earnings without paying taxes on them. This money can be used for out-of-pocket medical expenses. Some employers may even contribute to your FSA as well. HSA accounts are also commonly used for health care expenses.

FSA and HSA accounts come with some rules. With FSA accounts in particular, typically the funds in your account have to be used the year that you contribute. As we get close to the end of the year, we suggest you look at your FSA account balance and see where you can utilize those funds before the year end.

Now is a great time to utilize your FSA benefits! Here at Access to Health, we are open Monday-Wednesday December 21-23 and Monday-Wednesday December 28th-30. Give us a call 970-530-0981 to get adjusted and finish this year heathy and feeling great!

It's Important to Stretch Your Body Before & After
Gardening or Yard Work!

It’s that time of year when many of us want to get outside and work in our yards or plant our gardens. This is particularly true this year when we have all been stuck at home for several weeks.

One thing easy to forget when you are working outside, is to gently stretch before and afterwards, just like you do when you exercise. Some of those muscles that you are using to plant (squatting) or dig (arm work) or w**d (leg work) haven’t been used in awhile. Stretching out before and after time spent in your garden will help those muscles recover more quickly and will ease the pain you will feel the next day.

Keeping your muscles limber by stretching them regularly also will help guard against debilitating pain, stiffness or even more serious injuries. Stretching should feel good; never stretch to the point of pain or discomfort! Keeping your muscles flexible also protects and better supports your spine.
