The Eighth Candle: The Eternal Light of the New Jerusalem 🕎

The eighth candle of Hanukkah symbolizes the ultimate promise of GOD’s eternal light in the New Jerusalem, the glorious dwelling place of His Bride. ✨

"I saw no temple in the city, for the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY and the Lamb are its temple. And the city has no need of sun or moon, for the glory of GOD illuminates the city, and the Lamb is its light. The nations will walk in its light, and the kings of the world will enter the city in all their glory. Its gates will never be closed at the end of the day because there is no night there. And all the nations will bring their glory and honor into the city. Nothing evil will be allowed to enter... but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life” (Revelation 21:22-27).

As we light the final candle of Hanukkah, we celebrate the ultimate victory of light over darkness and the eternal reign of GOD’s glory. May this vision of the New Jerusalem fill our hearts with hope, joy, and awe. 🌟

Hanukkah: A Celebration of Miracles and Light

Hanukkah commemorates the miracle of one day’s oil lasting eight days until new, pure oil was ready for the Golden Lampstand. 🕎 Each night, the menorah is lit with an additional candle to honor this sacred event.

Don’t have a menorah? No worries! 🕯️ You can create one by arranging nine separate candles—eight in a line and one set apart or elevated to act as the shamash.

The third candle reminds us that GOD is the ultimate source of our personal light:

"The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1)

"For You will light my lamp, the LORD, my GOD will light up my darkness” (Psalm 18:28).

May your light shine brightly and your faith guide your path. 🌟

Hanukkah: A Celebration of Dedication and Light

Hanukkah, meaning “dedication,” is a winter festival that celebrates both a miraculous victory and the enduring light of GOD.

The second candle reminds us that GOD is the source of Israel's light:

"And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud to lead the way; and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light to go by day and night: He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night from before the people” (Exodus 13:21-22).

On the second night, an additional candle is added to the left of the first one. The new light is kindled first, then the candles are lit moving from left to right—a practice repeated each night of this sacred celebration. 🌟

May the lights of Hanukkah bring warmth, guidance, and joy to all.

First day of Hanukkah at sundown

Hanukkah, also called Chanukah, is a special eight-day winter celebration that begins on the 25th of Kislev, the ninth month of the Jewish calendar. 🕎 Known as the Festival of Lights, it’s a time to honor the miraculous light of GOD as described in Genesis:

"And GOD said, Let there be light, and there was light. And GOD saw the light, that it was good; and GOD divided the light from the darkness” (Gen. 1:3-4).

On the first night of Hanukkah, we light the shammus candle—the one that stands apart or higher. This candle is then used to kindle the candle on the far right of the Hanukkiah. A beautiful tradition filled with meaning and light! 🌟
