Over the last week, the Regulators honed their skills while setting up a mobile company command post and conducting a unit defense. Regulators hit the ground running with a 10 mile convoy, and leaders recon into the cantonment area. Team leaders led Soldiers through 360 degree security, range cards, and setting up c-wire with entry control point. Regulators received blocks of instruction on M240B/M249 familiarization, team movement under NVG, night-time driver’s training, VSAT/CAISI, wear of ECWCS, cold weather injury prevention, TPS, DCIPS, Classes of supply, How to complete a BOM, proper inventory and accoutnabilty of SHR items in the field, PERSTAT/LOGSTAT in a combat environment, and Casualty Reporting.

Regulators CPX1
This week the Regulators conducted their first Command Post Exercise. Through this “crawl phase” we trained to conduct convoy operations and establish a base defense. Soldiers received blocks of instruction on emplacing triple-strand C-wire, entry control point, creating a range card, CBRN, OE-254, radio etiquette, SPOT reports, and vehicle self-recovery.

VSAT & CAISI Training Events
Over the past month the Regulators have been learning how to establish upper TI in an austere environment. The Regulators received training on how to set up and operate the CSS VSAT and CAISI systems led by SPC Espiritu and DSB SASMO. Using a grid-to-grid line of sight configuration can allow an HR squad the freedom to operate up to 35 miles away from the CSS VSAT. Our team of newly trained Soldiers was able to employ the CAISI in only 17 minutes!! Check out the photos from our training events.

Winter Land Navigation
This week the Regulators completed their winter land navigation training.
We started in the classroom with a refresher course led by SGT Hudson. In the afternoon Soldiers occupied the training area to set up a warming tent, obtain their pace counts, and conduct daytime lanes in buddy teams, led by SSG Albarez.
On day two, Soldiers set out individually to complete both day and night lanes, the only thing we were missing was more snow!
