IMPORTANT NOTICE: The Village of Whitehall is beginning a mandated Lead Service Line (LSL) inventory of its water system as required under the Revised Lead and Copper Rule established by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH). The purpose of this project is to identify areas within the water distribution system that may contain lead service lines so they can eventually be targeted for replacement.

Beginning June 1, Village personnel working with local engineers will be locating individual water services throughout the Village. Water services are the physical connections between the public water system and private properties. Staff may be working near streets, sidewalks, driveways, or front lawns while gathering GPS information to support future infrastructure improvement projects.

Some service connections may not be visible from the roadway, and Village staff may need access to front lawn areas to locate them. Property owners are encouraged to cooperate by helping identify service locations and clearing vegetation or debris when possible.

⚠️ Please note: This is currently an information-gathering process only. No service line replacement work is being performed at this time. Additional public outreach will occur before any replacement activities begin.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact the Village Office at villageoffice@villageofwhitehallny.gov.

Thank you for your cooperation as the Village advances this important water system inventory project.

As soon as your baby's first tooth erupts, it's time to start using fluoride toothpaste. Here's how to do it:

Use a tiny smear—the size of a grain of rice—until age 3. Clean the teeth at least twice a day. It's best to clean them right after breakfast and before bedtime.

Use a pea-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste when your child is 3 years old. Teach your child to spit without rinsing.

Assist or supervise kids during toothbrushing until they master the task, usually at around 10 years of age.

Wearing a helmet is one of the most critical steps you can take to safeguard your long-term brain health.

To protect your brain, always wear a helmet when doing an activity where there's a risk of head injuries, such as biking, skiing, riding a horse or when using a motorcycle, snowmobile or all-terrain vehicle.

Helmets help absorb the force of an impact during a fall or collision, significantly reducing the risk of structural damage and traumatic brain injuries (TBI) that can have debilitating effects years later.
