Our doctors are both honored to participate in the InfantSEE® program, which offers a no-cost eye and vision assessment for babies between 6 and 12 months of age. Dr. Buford is also an InfantSEE® State Advocate for Oklahoma, helping promote early eye care for infants across the state.

Yesterday the FDA authorized the Essilor Stellest eyeglass lenses — the first spectacle lens approved to slow the progression of pediatric myopia. This has been available for years in other counties but finally now available in the US by the FDA!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Fingers crossed that our Essilor labs will have this available in the next couple months as an option to offer our patients! We are excited to add this FDA‑cleared myopia management solution in our practice soon!!

Today, we authorized the marketing of the first eyeglass lenses to slow the progression of nearsightedness in children 6 to 12 years old at the initiation of treatment. https://www.fda.gov/news-events/press-announcements/fda-authorizes-marketing-first-eyeglass-lenses-slow-progression-pediatric-myopia

The eyeglass lenses may reduce the likelihood of severe eyesight issues later in adult life and carry lower risks than the currently approved treatment alternative for slowing progression of myopia.
