Montana VA Health Care System We have the honor of serving Montana's Veterans with the best healthcare possible! The main campus is located at Fort Harrison.

The Montana VA Health Care System provides a VA presence in every major city in the state of Montana. The Fort Harrison VA Medical Center is a 34-bed acute care (including 6 in ICU), medical-surgical facility that offers a broad range of acute, chronic, and specialized inpatient and outpatient services for both male and female veterans. Specialty care includes dental, internal medicine, neurology, palliative care, pain management, medical oncology, surgery (general, vascular, laparoscopic, endoscopic), urology, orthopedics, plastic surgery, ophthalmology, podiatry, chiropractic care, behavioral health (including outpatient substance abuse treatment and PTSD & MST specific care), ambulatory care (primary care, nutrition/diabetes, rehab and social services), and rehabilitation (physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech & language pathology, and cardiac rehabilitation). Radiology Service provides a broad range of diagnostic and interventional care provided on a full time basis. Pathology Services are available on site also provided on a full time basis. Telemedicine services are available for behavioral health, radiology, dermatology, gynecology, primary care, ophthalmology, nutrition, diabetes and tele-home health. The Fort Harrison facility also operates an additional 24-bed residential mental health facility that provides residential PTSD and Substance Abuse programs. The Medical Center is co-located with the VBA Regional Office. Fort Harrison is located on 138 acres in a picturesque setting on the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains. The facility campus adjoins the city limits of Helena, the capital of Montana. A 30-bed Community Living Center (CLC) located in Miles City provides skilled-nursing, medical care and physical therapy. Primary care is provided at eleven Community Based Outpatient Clinics across the state: Anaconda, Billings, Bozeman, Cutbank, Glasgow, Glendive, Great Falls, Hamilton, Havre, Kalispell, Lewistown, Miles City, and Missoula. Two Primary Care Telehealth Outreach Clinics are located in Hamilton and Plentywood. The Sleep Disorders Clinic is located in Helena.

Don't miss out! The Montana VA Health Care System is hosting a virtual Women Veterans town hall, tonight at 5:00 p.m.

To join the conversation, Veterans can call (833) 560-2071. This town hall will be an audio-only event.

At the town hall, Women Veterans will have a chance to hear from their women-specific healthcare team and learn about services offered to all enrolled female Veterans. Some of these services include ultrasounds, mammograms, Pap and HPV tests, mental health care and counseling, lifestyle wellness services, menopause treatment (including hormonal therapy), pelvic floor support, and reproductive care.

Montana VA serves over 4,000 women Veterans. Each Montana VA primary care provider has national credentials specifically to provide women’s healthcare and Montana VA has numerous programs specifically to support women Veterans.

The second part of the town hall is held for Veterans’ questions. Representatives from Montana VA and the Veterans Benefits Administration will be available to provide answers.

Montana VA Health Care System is hosting a virtual Women Veterans town hall that will take place tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 26, beginning at 5:00 p.m.

To join the conversation, Veterans can call (833) 560-2071. This town hall will be an audio-only event.

At the town hall, Women Veterans will have a chance to hear from their women-specific healthcare team and learn about services offered to all enrolled female Veterans. Some of these services include ultrasounds, mammograms, Pap and HPV tests, mental health care and counseling, lifestyle wellness services, menopause treatment (including hormonal therapy), pelvic floor support, and reproductive care.

“If any enrolled Veteran has questions about fertility support or maternity care, reproductive care, pelvic floor health, mental health support, primary care, and any other facets of their care, we invite them to join the town hall,” said MTVAHCS Women Veteran Program Manager, Sue Calentine. “Women are the fastest growing group in the Veteran population and at Montana VA, our resources, services, and culture help ensure sure we meet the unique health care needs of our women Veterans.”

3. Call: Dial 406-442-6410 and press 2 for scheduling.

The 2026 Golden Age Games are coming!

And, the Montana VA is doing its part to recruit athletes.

The National VA Golden Ages Games registration opens TODAY at 8 a.m. for Visually Impaired & Wheelchair Divisions.

The Golden Ages Games are an annual VA event that allows Veterans to compete in over 20 sports events. Veterans will learn about the VA Golden Ages Games and registration information required for competition.

The Montana VA’s Recreation Therapy staff has information about the games and can assist Veterans interested in participating. Veterans can contact Recreation Therapist, Mike Bassett (Michael.bassett@va.gov ) if you are interested in applying for these National VA Events.
