Do you really understand what it is to be a healer? With people counting on you. Seeking your help. Turning misery into tolerance and then progression to balance and comfort. It begins by acknowledging a problem, then requires the intention to improve. And so, we embark on a journey together. Sometimes it takes 10 minutes, other times it can take 10 sessions. Sometimes it’s painful, sometimes it’s energizing, sometimes it’s scary, or other underlying issues pop up, sometimes it’s calming, sometimes it’s bliss. Most times it’s a mixture of all these. It’s always intimate, beneficial and worth the trust, time and investment. When a practitioner provides aid, it’s often more then just muscular. It’s mental and emotional also. There are many stories and pains revealed. I’ve seen many tears on the pillow (like the picture posted above). I become more then a therapist, but a listener, a supporter, a sounding board, a friend. I wouldn’t change it for the world!
After doing this work for 19 years, and something out of your control comes along and now you suddenly must refuse to work on your clients?!?? It’s horrible. Some of my clients count on me twice a week, once a week, some bi-weekly, and some monthly, others just once or twice a year but whatever it is, they’re counting on me. For some of these people I’m the reason they get out of bed that day. For some of these people, it’s the only hour they get away from their screaming kids, their nonstop phone, their jobs, that either compromise their posture or mental sanity. For some people, it’s the only time they get touched! My treatment provides them with the half hour or hour of escape. And now that’s being taken away from them.
COVID has forced me to stop seeing clients for the second time in my career. It is what it is, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy.
With my tail between my legs, I am closing shop until further notice. But I truly look forward to serving you all again ❣️
I want to take this “time off” to talk to teens about their possibility of becoming a massage therapist. I invite you to message me with any questions about the work I do... cuz I freaking love it!!!
Merry and safe Christmas!!!
