It was such a nice experience getting to teach class 3 of the Awakening the Body series from the comfort of our friend's cozy house on a cool, rainy little Tuesday in Colorado 🌧✨️🏞

We are back home in Florida now, and I'm excited to share tools to regulate the nervous system in class 4 tomorrow 🧠💖

We have yoga therapy this evening at 7 p.m. EST 🙌 and I'm so excited to share that the series has been extended to 10 classes instead of 5! 💚

Everyone is welcome to attend this gentle, chair-based, supportive online practice!

Tonight, we'll explore some Qigong movements to promote mobility, regulate the nervous system, and bring grounding through mindful movement and breathwork.

Part of my yoga therapy training is diving into the ocean of wisdom that yoga philosophy is 💧

This visual is something I created while studying Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras

Sutra 4.34

"The power of pure consciousness settles in its own pure nature."

Think of the ocean 💙

The surface has waves: thoughts, emotions, and gunas (energetic forces) constantly changing 🫧

Deep below the surface, the water is still

Most people live at the surface, getting caught in the waves of happiness, sadness, excitement, and frustration 🌊

Yoga and meditation teach us to go deeper, to the still, unchanging awareness beneath all the movement ⚓️

When we stop identifying with the waves and realize we are the ocean itself, we achieve kaivalya - complete liberation 🌎

I love a good ocean metaphor 🤭

It's easy to get wrapped up in identifying with things. What a nice practice to let go of all that sometimes and just rest in stillness for a moment. It's a nice practice not only just to free the mind for a moment but also for the health benefits the nervous system receives when we consistently create space in our lives for moments of stillness.

It is my intention to keep this account more active and share more about yoga therapy 🙏

Our work, rather, is to help reawaken the sense of the sacred that is already deep in the human soul, our primordial relationship with nature, our ancient mother love of the earth. We can be part of its rising again. 🙌🌅

Some ideas to reawaken the sense of the sacred:

1. Gardening & Regenerative Practices: Tending the soil is a spiritual act. Growing herbs, food, or native plants reconnects us to the rhythms of the Earth. Try composting and practicing permaculture!

2. Spending Time in Nature with Reverence: Not just hiking or being outside, but being with nature—listening to trees, honoring rivers, greeting the sunrise. These simple acts remind us that the Earth is alive and responsive.

3. Listening to Indigenous & Ancestral Wisdom: Learn from those who have kept the Earth-honoring traditions alive. Whether through Celtic stories, Native American teachings, or your own ancestral lineage, honoring the wisdom of the land helps us live more in tune with it.

4. Practicing Eco-Spirituality: Infuse your yoga, meditation, or prayer with gratitude for the Earth. Breathe with the wind, root through your feet, and honor the elements as teachers.

5. Supporting Ethical and Regenerative Businesses: Choose local, organic, and sustainable whenever possible. Where and how we spend our money is a sacred vote for the kind of world we want to co-create.

6. Teaching the Next Generation: Share the wonder of the Earth with children. Let them play in mud, plant seeds, and dance under the full moon. This nurtures sacred connection for generations to come.

7. Community Ritual and Celebration: Gather with others to mark the solstices, equinoxes, or full moons. Dance, drum, pray, sing—bring the sacred back into community and calendar!
