Dr. Jose Juan Diaz is an Osteopathic Physician, Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine. Dr. Diaz attended New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine as a New York State Regents Scholar. He graduated from the Helms Institute at the University of California at Los Angeles in the study of Acupuncture. During his residency training in New York, Dr. Diaz served as Administrative Chief Resident at the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine at New York University. After moving to South Florida, Dr. Diaz served as a Physiatric Associate at the Institute of Non-Surgical Orthopedics. He is presently a Clinical Associate Professor at Nova Southeastern School of Osteopathic Medicine and serves as the Director of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation for the OMT Department. Dr. Diaz is the Program Director for the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency at Larkin Hospital. He has been Medical Director for The Center for Children with Cerebral Palsy and Amedysis Home Health, Inc. He is a founding physician of Integrative Spine & Sports, LLC in Fort Lauderdale, where he currently works. Dr. Diaz has served as a guest speaker in numerous association conventions and is an OMT fellow and Medical Student Preceptor/ Mentor. He is a Gerson-trained physician in nutritional training/counseling. He is a member of the American Osteopathic College of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, American Osteopathic Association, Florida Osteopathic Medical Association, American Academy of Medical Acupuncture, American Osteopathic College of Pain Medicine, Broward County Medical Association, the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Academy of Integrative Medicine.
More importantly than just his excellent credentials, is the man that practices his craft. Dr. Diaz brings with him a unique combination of qualities rarely seen in medicine today, combining osteopathic principles, manipulation, nutritional counseling, acupuncture, trigger point injections, regenerative injections (with PRP blood grafts, stem cells and prolotherapy), spasticity management/injections with Botox/Dysport and multiple spinal and joint procedures, using fluoroscopic, electromyographic and sonographic guidance. Some of these that deserve special attention are a terrific and lively bedside manner that immediately soothes, an older tradition of practicing medicine with the patient in mind… not the clock. Dr. Diaz treats the whole person, not just a specific ailment, as is widely viewed by the public at large. Dr. Diaz believes in integrated patient care, as well as cooperative and proactive approaches to medicine that will heal ailments as well as maintain the body’s optimal performance through maintenance care.
