Epilepsy is a central nervous system (neurological) disorder where brain activity becomes abnormal, causing seizures or periods of unusual behavior, sensations, and sometimes loss of awareness. Not all people who appear to have seizures have epilepsy which is characterized by a tendency for recurrent seizures. Non-epileptic seizures (called pseudoseizures) are not accompanied by abnormal electrical activity in the brain and may be caused by psychological issues or stress. Some seizure signs and symptoms may include temporary confusion, a staring spell, uncontrollable jerking movements of the arms and legs, loss of consciousness or awareness, and/or psychic symptoms such as fear, anxiety, or deja vu.

Doctors use brain scans and other tests to diagnose epilepsy. Some tests include Computed Tomography (CT) of the Head, EEG (Electroencephalogram), Magnetic Resonance, Functional (fMRI) of the brain, and/or Pharmacogenetic Tests. If you would like a second opinion on your treatment and diagnosis, contact us at secondopinions.com for your peace of mind.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) affects over 16 million people in the United States, making it the third leading cause of death in the country.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) affects over 16 million people in the United States, making it the third leading cause of death in the country. COPD obstructs airflow from the lungs, which causes breathing difficulties. Chronic bronchitis and emphysema are two common conditions of this disease. Chronic bronchitis is when there’s inflammation of the bronchial tubes’ lining, which carry air to and from the lungs. Emphysema occurs when the air sacs of the lungs become damaged and larger than normal.
Smoking is the leading cause of COPD but it can also be caused by air pollution, chemical fumes, or dust. Some of the symptoms are breathing difficulties, cough, mucus production, wheezing, and chest tightness. COPD is a chronic pulmonary disease that can be treated but not cured. Quitting smoking is the first step but some of the treatments include medications and inhibitors.
Those who suffer from this pulmonary disease have a higher risk of developing conditions such as heart disease and lung cancer. Also, many smokers and former smokers tend to be misdiagnosed, which is why a second opinion is vital. A second opinion will help towards receiving the proper help to avoid other diseases and receive the right diagnostic. Visit SecondOpinions.com to receive a well detailed and informed diagnostic for your peace of mind and the peace of mind of those you love.

30 million Americans are living with diabetes.

In the United States over 30 million Americans are living with diabetes. Diabetes is a chronic disease that results when there is high elevated amount of glucose in the blood, also known as high blood sugar. This happens when the body does not process food properly to be used as energy. The pancreas of someone with diabetes is not able to release insulin, which is used to to open the cells to allow glucose to enter and then be used for energy.
There are different types of diabetes, such as Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is where the body’s immune system attacks its own pancreas. A person with type 1 usually takes insulin injections. Type 2 diabetes is when a person is able to produce some
of their own insulin, which often appears in people who are overweight and not active. The treatment for type 2 is usually diet and exercise, sometimes medications. Gestational diabetes is when a woman develops diabetes during pregnancy, in which high blood sugar can affect the way cells use sugar and it can also affect the baby’s health. To control gestational diabetes it is important to eat healthy, exercise, and if necessary, take medication.
Diabetes has become the leading cause of blindness, kidney failure, amputations, heart failure, and strokes. In 2015, diabetes was the seventh leading cause of death. With such alarming numbers a second opinion is vital to take the right steps to live a healthy long life with diabetes.
You will receive the right detailed education about the diagnosis you receive, along with the right treatment to follow. Visit SecondOpinions.com for your second opinion and your peace of mind.

You’ve had a study done and you received your report, but you're unsure of the results.

It's not necessarily that you do not trust the doctor, but a second opinion will give you the reassurance you need.

Many people consider seeking the knowledge and advice of more than one doctor. This is called a second opinion.Asking for a second opinion is common practice. The more knowledge and information you have about your health, the more comfortable you will feel, making health care decisions. Multiple studies examined the real value of a second opinion for radiology studies. The findings all lead to the same place, they always point to an increase in accurate diagnoses when the scans are reviewed by a second party.

Myth #1

“My doctor might get offended.”

Second opinions are not only a common tool for patients to use, but one they must use when they have doubts on their diagnosis. Professionals will not only not get offended but in some cases, suggest them, especially when it comes to the patients peace of mind.

Myth #2

“Second opinions are only for treatment options.”

Error or discrepancy in radiology reporting does not always equate negligence. Radiologist errors occur for many reasons, both human- and system-derived. To have a correct treatment one should have a clear understanding of their condition and posterior diagnosis.

Myth #3

“Second opinions are very time consuming.”

Nowadays getting a second opinion does not have to be time consuming. At www.second opinions.com, you are able to open an account, complete your medical history, upload your images, and get a report uploaded to your account in less than 24 hours. If you ever have questions on your report, you can also purchase a phone consultation.

Myth #4

“Second opinions are expensive.”

Check with your health insurance, some of them do cover second opinions. If they don’t, second opinions do not have to be expensive. You can check www.secondopinions.com for rates. The rates include a prior study comparison if you have one.

Second opinions can be sought out not only by patients but also by doctors or insurance providers. They reduce the risk of medical errors, misdiagnosis, and unnecessary procedures. It is an extra step to take for a patient's peace of mind.

Get instant medical second opinion online. Ask a Board Certified doctor for medical advice. Prices starting at 49$.

•Bloating
There are no known causes however there are factors that can increase the risks such as Inherited gene mutations. Inherited colon cancer syndromes include familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) and hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer (HNPCC) These syndromes are detected through genetic testing.
Other risk factors include African-American race, chronic inflammatory diseases, high-fat low fiber diet, alcoholism, smoking and older age.
Diagnosis of the condition begins with screening tests followed by the diagnostic tests and staging where the actual condition of the patient is known. Three primary options for treatment are radiation, chemotherapy and surgery.
