Are you still denying yourself lip enhancement because you’re afraid of going too far?
This is one of the most common concerns we hear during consultations.
The fear of “overfilled lips” is completely understandable.
Our patient felt the same way and initially asked for only 0.5 ml. However, during a first-time treatment, 0.5 ml usually does not provide sufficient structural correction. It’s typically not enough to properly balance shape or address asymmetry.
1 ml is the standard syringe volume. It’s approximately one teaspoon of product distributed throughout the entire lip anatomy – not concentrated in a single area. In a primary treatment, it supports proportion and contour rather than creating excessive volume.
An additional 0.5 ml can be appropriate at a follow-up visit, once the filler has integrated and there is foundational structural support in the tissue. At that stage, refinement is precise and predictable.
Immediately after the procedure, temporary asymmetry may be visible. This is a normal tissue response – swelling and individual soft tissue behavior. Lips, like all soft tissues, respond differently to hyaluronic acid, which is why the final result is evaluated after stabilization.
