80% of Americans do not have a current or updated Will.
Unless they know something you and I do not, 100% of us will require one.
Nineteen Year-old Living in Parents' Home:
A colleague of mine sold a LegalShield membership to her nineteen year-old friend, who liveD with his parents in Compton, CA... We encourage new members to fill out their Will Questionaire. [As a teenager, without dependents he reasoned, "What do I need a will for?"
He workeD for Costco. {Please note the capitalized "D" - as in he is no longer living or working Anywhere.)]
As a solid company, Costco paid out
* Serverance
* Sick leave
* Vacation pay
* Bonuses, etc...
These payments would have gone a long way toward helping his grieving parents, who now had to buy an emergency burial plot for their son, and pay for his funeral.
Because he died intestate, the parents had to hire an attorney to prove to the state of California that they were his rightful heirs.
Indeed our Last Will and Testament is the last love letter we leave behind.
Embarrassed Ari:
As a LegalShield Associate, I knew that story for five years and had still not gotten around to filling out my Will Questionaire...
It wasn't till a neighbor noticed "Legal" embossed on my shirt said, "I need a Wil. Do you do Wills?"
Fifteen minutes later, her LegalShield membership was signed, AND her Will Questionaire was completed.
Before I retired that evening, my Will Questionaire was completed as well.
