In my current role at La Salud Hispana, I am embarking on a dream of creating, developing, publishing and launching half a million copies of a national bilingual latino health magazine called La Salud Hispana Health Magazine. Created for Latinos by Latinos the publication will solely focus on current health issues affecting our community such as Diabetes Type 2, Obesity, HIV/AIDS, HEPATITIS C, Heart disease, Depression, TEENAGE PREGNANCY Alzheimer’s and many more. These are true MEDICAL issues with high incidence of mortality in the Latino community, however, we are not addressing them face to face as most government funding goes to research that we Latinos are not even included. Assembling such a rigorous project is extremely challenging but very rewarding and beneficial as I believe it will give us the vehicle we need to address, educate and communicate to our community serious health issues affecting our Latino population. Corporate/government advertisement sponsorship is very rigorous , difficult to obtain and dedicated to established high end publications around the USA. It will take us years to established a solid corporate sponsorship commitment while our Latino community ranging from all ages will continue dying prematurely for lack of information and prevention services. I AM NOT ASKING FOR A FREE DONATION BUT FOR YOUR SUPPORT WITH A $5.00 dollar SUBSCRIPTION FEE SO THAT WE ARE ABLE TO PUBLISH, PRINT AND DISTRIBUTE 500,000 COPIES OF LA SALUD HISPANA HEALTH MAGAZINE BY FALL OF 2015 IN CELEBRATION OF HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH AND BREAST CANCER HEALTH AWARENESS.
