Last Saturday, I spoke at the Florida Medical Association’s Women Physicians Winter Retreat. I shared the story of how Ceibo Fertility Center came to be - the why behind it, the how, and what year three is looking like.

What I didn’t expect was the question that kept coming up.

Not about protocols. Not about clinical outcomes. About Ownership. About Independence. About whether it’s really possible to practice medicine on your own terms - and actually build something that reflects your values.

I know that question intimately. I sat with it for years before I took the leap.

And what I want my patients to know is this: that question matters for you too. Because when a physician has done the hard work of building something they truly believe in, and have ownership in - the way they show up for you is different. The stakes are higher. The care is deeper.

exists because I answered that question for myself. Every single day we open our doors, we answer that question for you.

Seeing the hunger for ownership in the room didn’t just inspire me. It reminded me exactly why this work matters. And we are Just. Getting. Started.

Did you know that women in North America spent $1.44 billion dollars on ovulation tests in 2024? And that was only projected to increase in 2025 and 2026.

I LOVE that women are tracking. I LOVE that the conversation around fertility is getting louder.

What I want for every woman though is not just data collection - find someone who helps you make sense of it.

OPK’s are a tool. They’re not a diagnosis, and they’re not a plan.

You deserve a physician who knows the difference.

Today is one of those days for me too.
Today would have been my mom’s birthday. She passed a year ago — and grief, I’ve learned, doesn’t follow a calendar. It shows up when it wants to. Sometimes loudly. Sometimes in the quietest, most unexpected moments.
I share this because I think about my patients on days like this. The ones sitting with a anniversary that looks different than they imagined. The ones who love their partner deeply and still feel the weight of another year passing without the family they’ve been working so hard to build.
You don’t have to reframe it today. You don’t have to find the lesson or the silver lining or the gratitude just yet.
You’re allowed to just be in it.
That’s what I’m doing today too. 🤍

✨ Ceibo 2026 ✨ When I opened doors to this boutique practice in the fall of ‘23, I could never have imagined this is where we would be now.

I am so incredibly grateful to the village that got me here. And most importantly, I am extremely proud of the impact that we are having in our community.

Ceibo was built to reimagine how fertility care was delivered. Hearing the feedback from two patients today, only reconfirms that we need to keep doing this work!

We continue to reach for the stars, excited for the next chapter that is loading in our journey…

While the holidays are certainly a time for celebration, they can also be painful reminders…

✨ Dec. 2021 ✨ This picture was taken before you got sick. Before you left us. You loved the holidays because of what it meant for family. Gathering. Together-ness. Celebration. Despite how complicated the word family was, you always embraced it. Not a day goes by I don’t think about you.

Missing you a little more today. Our first holiday season without you here.
