We’re especially grateful to Community Court for allowing us to serve as a contributing community organization in this important space.

As a member of the City of Fort Lauderdale’s Homeless Advisory Board and the Founder of Ready for the World LLC, we’re honored to lead efforts that turn compassion into action and prioritize dignity and wellness for all.

Hygiene kits are more than supplies — they help prevent illness, promote personal care, and support public health for those most vulnerable in our community. When we address basic needs, we uplift the entire community.

🌎 Supporting Our Community: Our Commitment to Giving Back🌎

At Ready For The World, LLC, we believe in the power of community and mutual support. Recently, Linda Hurst and her family faced a challenging ordeal when their Fort Lauderdale home erupted in flames following a family cookout. Louise Snell, 89 years old, was among those affected. The Hurst family has been a part of our journey, trusting us to care for their children over the years.

During these difficult times, we’re deeply grateful for the trust the Hurst family has placed in us. Now, it’s our privilege to give back. We’re proud to contribute to their recovery efforts and support Louise Snell, Linda Hurst, and their family in rebuilding their lives.

🌎🦖 Encouraging Community Outings with a Creative Twist! 🌳🌎

Meet Jason! Jason benefits from our specialized services at Ready for the World, LLC, including Life Skills Development and Companion care. He loves dinosaurs 🦕 and prefers the comfort of home. To gently encourage Jason to join us for community outings, we integrated his favorite toy into our strategy. Placing dinosaurs in various spots at the park sparked Jason’s excitement and curiosity, leading to successful outings and more adventures ahead!

Our approach combines teaching practical skills for independence with compassionate non-medical care and socialization activities.

Community Court is Florida’s first problem-solving court for people experiencing homelessness or hardship who are charged with non-violent municipal or misdemeanor offenses.
Rather than sending individuals through a cycle of jail and release, the court connects them to services and stability.

Ready For The World, LLC is a APD Home and community-based services Medicaid Waiver Provider

‼️‼️‼️The Florida Medicaid Waiver application is FINALLY online. I haven't gone through it yet, but it seems pretty straightforward.

If you have NOT applied, and you have a child with one of these disabilities (the ones that are required)

- Intellectual disabilities (Full Scale IQ of 70 or below)
- Severe forms of autism
- Spina bifida cystica or myelomeningocele
- Cerebral palsy
- Prader-Willi syndrome
- Down syndrome
- Phelan-McDermid syndrome or

If you are a parent of ANY AGE of a child with an intellectual or developmental disability identified above, fill it out.

YES, THERE IS A LONG WAITLIST. That didn't change - but still don't delay. The longer you wait to do the application, the longer it'll be for services to start.

Medicaid Waiver is NOT the same as Medicaid (as in health insurance). It covers services like:

- Home and community-based services: These include social, behavioral, medical, and therapeutic services.
- Consumable medical supplies: These include items like diapers, gloves, feeding tubes, food supplements, and hearing aids.
- Durable medical equipment and supplies: These are included in the covered services.
- Environmental accessibility adaptations: These are included in the covered services.
- Personal emergency response systems: These are included in the covered services.
- Supported employment services: These are offered by the APD.
- Supported living services: These are offered by the APD.

🌍🎓🎉Huge congratulations to Za’Miyah Williams on being awarded a $1,000 scholarship! Future Dermatologist | Skincare Innovator | FAMU-Bound
Your hard work and dedication have truly paid off, and we couldn’t be prouder of all that you’ve achieved. Keep shining bright! 🌍Also, participated in our 2013 Ready for the World Summer Camp. Watching her evolve from a bright, spirited child in our program to an accomplished young woman pursuing medicine fills our hearts with immense pride. This scholarship represents our commitment to giving back to the families who have trusted us to pour into their children—and Za’Miyah is a shining example of what’s possible when community support meets determination. At 18 years old, Za’Miyah has achieved what many only dream of. She recently graduated from the College Academy at Broward College, earning both her Associate of Arts degree and high school diploma simultaneously. She holds a 3.8 cumulative GPA, a 5.2 weighted GPA, and a 4.6 core GPA, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to academic success.

This fall, Za’Miyah will take the next step in her journey as she begins her undergraduate studies at Florida A&M University (FAMU)—a university known for empowering future leaders and changemakers. ~ “As a Black woman, I know the struggle of finding products that truly work for our skin,” Za’Miyah shares. “Creating a skincare line that addresses our unique needs is something I’m passionate about—not just as a business, but as a calling.”

At Ready For The World, LLC, we specialize in non-medical Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) that support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through personal care, life skills, and meaningful community engagement.

🔹 What’s the difference between HCBS and ABA services?

HCBS are non-clinical support services that focus on helping individuals function more independently in their homes and communities. These services include:
• Personal care assistance
• Life skills development
• Community participation
• Daily routine support

Our staff implement individualized support plans with clearly defined goals—such as improving hygiene, preparing meals, or enhancing social skills—to help participants reach their highest level of independence.

🔍 ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) is a clinical behavioral therapy, typically for individuals with autism or behavioral needs. It focuses on:
• Behavior modification
• Data tracking
• Reducing maladaptive behaviors
• Teaching functional skills using evidence-based techniques

Although we are not an ABA provider, 🔗 we collaborate closely with ABA teams to ensure consistency across environments and help our clients reach developmental milestones as one unified support system.
